Re: Asst. BB Coach's

Sounds like Grayer as Director of Basketball Operations.

Which leads me to my next question. What does the DOBO do?

Re: Billy Gillispe........as an assistant?

ISU could easily win the National Championship in football next season.

As long as they don't stub their toes against Iowa, Utah, Northern Illinois, Texas, Oklahoma, UNI, Kansas, K-State, Nebraska, Mizzou, Tech and Alabama, they'll coast.

I think this would be a great move by Hoiberg if he could get him on as an assistant. This would be a great move too by Gillispe getting him back into the game, not as a coach, but at least as an assistant. Knows the ropes of Big 12 basketball and has recruiting ties in Texas. Win Win for both sides in my opinion.

He directs the filling of basketballs with air, and patching of them...I would guess he is in charge of scheduling, making sure things run smoothly, etc.

Re: Jeff Rutter

Interesting - he has been with GMAC for many years. I did hear someone say yesterday he has kids in high school with only a couple of years left and wasn't real big on moving.

Re: Jeff Rutter

I really hope he doesn't stick around. He always seemed like more of a yes-man to McD. I talked to him a few times at camps at UNI and ISU, and he just didn't seem to have a great basketball mind. I don't know, I could be way off, but the less people left over from the McD era the better.

Re: Jeff Rutter

Im sure he's a nice guy, but he never impressed me. I wouldve thought he was his best friend outside Ben J.

Re: Jeff Rutter

Feel bad for Rutter, supposedly is a really good friend of Mac's, then gets demoted, and now apparently gets left in the dust. That's the biz I guess.

Rutter is a great guy, solid basketball mind, positive and upbeat. I hope things work out for him.

Re: Asst. BB Coach's

Wasn't he a grad assistant during morgan's first year?

That was the intent, but when the University found out he had not graduated at that point (he finished his degree in '05) they had to nix it.
