Wow.... nice.... making it personal. How classy.

I thought we were just talking meaningless sports, but no, you take it to the personal level.

Well, just so you know, I won't go there. I respect you too much. I don't even know you, so I can't even make myself go there. Nice touch out of you though, you should be proud.

I see we blew yet another one. Hey, we've beaten one this year though, Northern Colorado or whoever it was? So I guess I'm supposed to come on here and shower this team and coaching staff with praise in hopes it will get better if I'm just patient and wait another year, right? Is that how it works?
Dont worry. They've run out of ways to defend this team's performances, so personal attacks is all that's left.

The announcer mispronounced everything under the sun.

Periods became rounds
Weatherspoon was Witherspoon
Chaid was like the Indian tea. I think it's pronounced "Chad"
Quean became Queen
At one point he said Marcus Harrington was wrestling for North Carolina.
Another time he said Iowa (not Iowa State)
Symansky became Schamansky
The announcer mispronounced everything under the sun.

Worst announcer I've ever heard: Weatherspoon only unranked guy to place at NCAAs last year; Powell was Downey; Downey was wrestling Harrington...guy was a butcher.

I guess so. Kinda sad.

Coming close is considered a victory now. Guys being "gassed" is just normal, even though other teams' wrestlers aren't "gassed" for some reason? Whatever. It's just sad how far our program has fallen.

Downey looked gassed in the first period after he got the take down. Don't know what happened there other than he was wrestling a heavier guy.

Only a handful of practices since returning, sick, and giving up at least 13 lbs..probably more like 20. It was ugly, but it's still a W...and, it was much more beneficial than pinning their 184 in the first period.

Yep, he grabbed his other arm for a headlock without having the NC wrestlers arm trapped. It was quick, but it was illegal. Still that had to give him a huge advantage over the NC wrestler who had to fight off his back for 2 1/2 minutes, yet Simmons was the one that gassed. Hate to say it, and I know Simmons is cutting weight, but it's typical of the Jackson era.

I thought most of the team looked tired--more than in any meet in recent memory (I didn't see 133 or 141). Powell had plenty of energy though--I thought at first he was Downey the way he went after his opponent (the video was kind of dark).

The size difference was noticable. Chaid wrestled heavyweight last year (or whenever Grand Canyon still had a program).

Typical KJ team, may be an exception here and there but his teams always seem to lack conditioning.

Give me a break. Just the other day you told me he was back healthy?

You have more excuses than Hilary.

Truthfully, I know he's your son and you think he's the best but he ain't on the same planet as Dean, Nickal and Dudley. He'll be lucky to make rd 12.

Dean punishing people, Bo pinning everyone and putting a beat down on my boy Dudley. Dudley manhandling everyone else.

Then you have Downey not pinnin the kid that was 2-8 and now barely hangs on vs another week opponent.

My suggestion. Stay off the boards, tape your kids mouth shut and see if he can stun the world and possibly come in 8th

I didn't get to watch so just now catching up. Disappointing result, but not really any surprising individual results. Really doesn't speak well to the coaches confidence in Marcus Harrington, unless his injury is aggravated again? Although the move did work out for us points wise.

Any details on Spoon/Ramos match other that what was provided on the twitter feed?

UNI, OU, OSU, Pitt, WVU and Minn left on the schedule. The way things are going, the only sure win I see left for us is WVU. We can maybe beat OU, UNI and Pitt? Best case scenario we finish 5-8. There is a real possibility we could finish the dual season 2-11.

IMO, it is time for a change in leadership. For some time, I believed that the risk of not finding a quality replacement was greater than the possible reward of a dismissal/new hire (especially one made under Pollard). KJ and his staff--I don't hold them separate--have chipped that all away. How many years left on his contract?

So is your boyfriend coming off a significant injury? Wrestled up to 97 in any of his matches? Keep in mind this is CycloneFanatic where the majority of the posters are Iowa State fans. You want to slobber over your boy take your ass to Hillbilly Husker Hoedown or whatever half assed site you guys use. Nobody here cares about Dudley or your weird obsession with him.

Early in the match, Weatherspoon nearly had the upper body lock he likes to use, but after that he wasn't really able to get any offense going. It seems he was also in the bottom position a lot. I think Ramos is the one who gave Mark Hall his only loss.

This troll is clueless. When Downey was at NE, Dudley never even touched legs, let alone took him down....he couldn't even finish a practice with Downey; he literally got abused in practice. But Downey just keeps on weighing in at 184, ducking top 197s like Pfarr, Rotert, and former HEAVYWEIGHTS, like Chaid, etc. You better lay off that Dudley Kool-Aid, pal.

p.s. I said his 'rib' was healthy. Do you understand the difference between that and a cold?

p.p.s. Name ONE 184 that Downey hasn't 'punished'.

Oops.... don't say that. You'll probably get ripped for it. Just warning you. Losing is now acceptable in wrestling at ISU.
In his defense, Damn, we hate to lose - fball, bball, vball, wrestling. Can't we just win some? Is it not our time?.
