I wanted to add something of note.

With the student section moving. One issue is the band not being in the same area. My daughter says they barely can hear the band, if at all, in the student section. She said during half time they cant hear the show at all, and during the game, they can barely hear them play.

So part of the problem is that, the students and band feed off each other, and now that they are in complete opposite ends of the stadium it is an issue. Most schools have their band sitting in the student section, we had a separate area, next to the students, but now they are too separated.

I dont know what the answer is now that they moved the students, without moving them back, which will not happen.

Need to add microphones to the band. Not having that interaction between them and the student section is rough.

I’ll explain, I have one of those rotating sets of different accessibility handy cap “seats”. I‘ve lately been near the students. I used to have a regular seat in section 5, so I could easily enjoy students AND band. Being see and hear the students is a joy, so much fun. When Otz was leading cheer pre-game, fun.

Anyway, TCU game I was near band, darn I missed them. So good to see and hear.

a shout out to the guy in stands below HC seating, with his vintage ISU football helmet. Apparently it is blessed or good luck. It is passed around reverently, but usually in his possession. At end of game he rushes to top of stairs waits for nearly everyone in that section to reach the top and the touch this well worn helmet and he says the helmet blessing “Go Cyclones” or a variation. I don’t know how long this tradition has been done, but it should not stop!!

Yep, student here, we can’t hear the band at all. I was front row of the student section and still couldn’t hear them. It’s really bad.

This is what they should have done (and they could have offered the seats in the NE corner first to the NW). Now that they've done the switch it'll be much harder to do that without upsetting lots more people.
Then upset those people. The Band and Students need to be together period. Find a way. After all it is the Band and Students that are currently going to school there, it is literally their football team. Find a way, really helps with game atmosphere also.

Guys… solution: We just need some of those bibbed doosh bags like they have in college station. That would help a lot.

Our students are so dorky, but I appreciate how much they embrace it. That kid with the Campbell outfit was fantastic. Stuff like that is so much better than matching t shirts.

I'm of the opinion they need to figure out a way to get the standing sections set up for the students in the North end zone similar to supporter sections you see in MLS. I doubt it could fit all student tickets, plus it would cover the Jacobson building and a lot of other potential issues. But if you ignore the downsides it's perfect.

Putting them in the corner is the worst possible idea. They are literally as far away from the field/players/band as they can get in our stadium. Returning them to where they were is the best solution, but behind the end zone works in some stadiums. UCF does a good job with that.

Now a couple of observations, you may enter parking lot 6 hours before start of game. That has been burned into our first-in-line brains. Suddenly no explanation “line up at 9:30am enter at 10am. I’m circling like in musical chairs waiting to be first in line. Last game 50 cops prevented being near a gate on the blocked streets. TCU game no cops and folks started line up at gates on the blockEd of streets.

I got in line at 9, with 12 other vehicles SE corner of Hilton. Then as we wait, the gate at Jack Trice Way opens up. Two guys in front of me, tired of good parking spots disappearing, get out talk to gate keepers, no luck. Then those guys find a supervisor and got the gates open.

In front of the porta potties in lot D5, there is fish net on the ground used in landscaping. People were getting tripped up and caught in the net. No one had a knife to cut that stuff up. Why with all concrete poured they couldn’t they pour pads for the plastic John’s?

Game 1 pickup trucks drive over curbs onto bark to gain valuable tailgating space. Game 2 parking patrol orders trucks off curbs. Game 3 ”climb the curbs” Clones. Tailgating Rules!

Arrive late? Too bad, trucks and cars with their front bumpers parked on red lines on both sides of row.
