Tried to register and post on your Big12 site, took me about 5 times for that character recognition step, ugh. Now waiting for permissions to post. Anyway wanted to reply to the Cougs post as I have a son in law that Houston grad, think his notes, while not completely misdirected, was not on point, at least as far as I understood. Certainly there was push back from the Texas members (recruiting fears, I suppose), but to me Houston was much better choice than Memphis or Colorado State or Boise (other potentials). I did see some push back about the fear of a Texas centric league, but hell we have been fighting that since SWC joined us. We even lost Nebby because of UT, but that's another story. Also, Baylor was not the only school without a landing spot, ; our hope was the BIG10 would expand, but there was much angst about that on this Board (Kansas was with us) and KSU and TCU were worried also; as their hope was the PAC. ESPN appeared to want many of us in the AAC, without autonomy status and playoff slot with the new playoff expansion (and more control andless payout for content, power play). Actually, our president and AD were heavily involved; President was Chair of expansion committee. You can see it in the threads from this summer; but welcome to the BIG12!

PS: Cincy, BYU and Houston appear to be holding their weight in bowls; whar UCF :D
oops, just checked; you get the gasparilla bowl against Florida; we need a victory!!!!!
Go knights!!!:p:p
Yes I can imagine all the schools were very antsy about securing their schools future. I for one was worried about UCF getting left behind in a watered down AAC, that would’ve been a nightmare. I feel bad for Memphis fans. But yes all 4 schools are strong additions to the conference, and hopefully give a good showing in the bowl games. This is probably the worst year for UF to finally agree to play us, as we’re very depleted and injured, and the players aren’t used to Malzahn’s system. Would be huge for us in perception in the state if we win though.

FYI it might take a few days for you to register, as it’s not my site and the mods can be slow sometimes. Hope to see some of you guys posting!

My sister went to UCF for grad school. We ended up going to the USF game in 2019. It was a really fun atmosphere,. Tailgating there is pretty weird though. We had to pack up like an hour before. They apparently shut it down before the game, at least for students.

Glad to have UCF in the Big 12. Look forward to when the new schools join.

Thanks! Yeah, I think they clear Memory Mall (the central area where the students tailgate) about an hour before the game to encourage the students to go to the game, but I’m not certain.

My son tailgated at ISU for five years and never got inside the stadium.

Well for the longest while, the tailgate was better than the games. CMC has changed that lately.
Fair, although I attended every game when UCF was 0-12, losing to the likes of Furman and FIU, and getting blown out by UConn. Those were some rough days.

I’m also hoping to be in the same division with you guys. I’m thinking that the divisions will be:

East:
Iowa State
Cincinnati
West Virginia
Kansas
Kansas State
UCF

West:
Oklahoma State
BYU
Texas Tech
TCU
Houston
Baylor
I like the thought, but it’s a brutal travel schedule vs. the West. I’d like to see some blend of your idea.

Welcome and let’s do some good thing$ together!

Are we certain that there will be divisions?
