That band introduction was awesome! It is amazing the respect the marching band gets on the field now. There is a world of difference from when I was in band 10-15 years ago. We'd be performing pre-game show and the student section would be chanting for Cy to pick a fight with the other team's mascot. Now they student section is involved with the band.
Which leads me to the whole gameday atmosphere compared to just 10-15 years ago. Back then MAYBE 30,000 would have been at this game and half of those would seem to not be even paying attention to the game. Now with the scoreboard and other changes to the stadium (even a real grass field), the larger, louder crowd, it's a great gameday experience. Not to mention the team now would DESTROY the teams from back then.
It may not feel like it right now but the improvements in the football program over the years is incredible. Even though it was a frustrating loss, I left yesterday thinking that we are getting there. I for one am proud to be a Cyclone.
