Honestly, that game in 2019 and one more time in 2020 is the only years I remember playing KU at home during break. In 2020 we would have lost to KU anywhere we played at anytime.

Conspiracy about Walker is nuts. It’s December in Iowa. Kids get sick. If it were COVID you can be sure that would have leaked. If there is more to the story I doubt he’s on the bench.

This game is on ESPNU which is incredibly disappointing considering it's one of the top games of the season thus far. Do you suppose ESPN will scrounge up a few extra dollars so their announcers can actually call the game from inside Hilton Coliseum instead of inside their living rooms?

Too bad we don't have a pessimistic icon because I have very little confidence in them changing their plans as they squeeze every single nickel until the buffalo *****.

When this game was scheduled nobody thought it would be a major game. Nobody.

Not my point. It just seems that the Big XII tends to schedule the top team in the league to play in Hilton in early January. I'm not a conspiracy guy, I think it's just a coincidence.

Didn’t these students have to claim Baylor tickets before thanksgiving? That could limit the number of students there. New Year’s Day also hurts student turnout.

On 10/19 they opened what was left of the student section to the members of the Jr Cyclone club to get a free ticket and allowed their parents to buy seats next to them. The Baylor game was one of those and it sold out pretty fast.

On 10/26 anything left was open as single game tickets for Cyclone Club members to buy before opening to the general public on 10/27.

Complaining about this when the game is on NYD is dumb. At least it's not on ESPN+ Iowa State/the Big 12 have played on ESPNU for freakin years.

This list isn’t accurate. For instance 10-11 KU game wasn’t a beak game cause classes started 1/10.

11-12 season the Mizzou games on weren’t beak game cause classes stared 1/9.

12-13 season the WVU wasn’t a break game.

The past couple years have been unique with classes starting a week later because of covid, but that hasn’t been that way pre covid.

Anyone know the best time to buy tickets for this game is? Trying to get lower levels but the tickets on stubhub right now look pretty rough.

Yeah, a win over #1 is so rare it will be special.

Did I hear it right on the broadcast of the last game - if Baylor takes care of business with their last cupcake this game will be only the 4th time in the last 40 years that two teams 12-0 or better have faced each other? If true that is unbelievable.

Yes, E+ showed a graphic on the telecast - would be only 4th time in 40 ... of course now I can't remember the other 3. :D

We got lower level for all the break with Jr Cyclone Club. We got as far down as row 5 vs Texas tech. the weekend games vs Baylor and Texas were higher up. But to an earlier question, students did not fill the lower bowl

Yup. During the Fred and early Prohm years, it was a Big Monday showcase game.
During the McD years, I have no idea when we played them. It obviously didn't matter when.
I know that in 2007 the KU-ISU game at Hilton was on Saturday afternoon; I remember this very clearly, because I saw most of the team out at Club Element the night before the game, and got smacked on the ass by one of them . I think they lost by only a couple of points that year, too, and I couldn't help but wonder if they might have done just a smidge better if they weren't out at bar close the previous night.

I'd think with Omicron spreading like wildfire in the US, the chance of ISU/Baylor game taking place Jan 1 is iffy...
