I worked in a management roll at Casey's for almost 20 years up until about 2 months ago. I can honestly say it was a fantastic company for the first 15 or so years. Once the new leadership team came in with the new CEO and all of his buddies from past failed companies, it has become a complete joke! I wouldn't go back to that company if they paid me double what my salary was. This job posting is a sign of desperation. Casey's is getting smoked by Quick Star and it's only a matter of time before the company gets sold.

Since Quick Star has moved into the Cedar Rapids market Casey's is dead to me.

And, in typical Casey's fashion they are cutting every corner possible. For example, if you want to drive the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile, a similar role, you need an MBA.

Casey's stores are dirty and the check-outs are slow.

Go into a Quick Trip and they have one clerk running two checkouts at the same time and fly through it. I'm sure part of it is the POS system, but still. A Quick Trip clerk can get through a line of 10 people faster than a Casey's clerk can get through 3.

Since this is turning into a Casey's bashing thread, I'm here for it!
This past weekend, I stopped at one of our local Casey's stores in Grimes to exchange a propane tank. The clerk actually refused to sell me a new tank because it was too cold outside and she "didn't want to have to bundle up to go out there". I was speechless. That's your f*cking job! I know it's cold out, that's why I need to exchange a propane tank you twit! I was more than happy to give my money to the Kum & Go down the road.

This is so true. I avoid the nearest Caseys by my house due to the brutal slowness of the cashiers. Literally 2 lines of about 4 people in each. Its not just like this at peak times either.

My experience with Caseys check out wait time is that most of the delay is the customer deciding a minute or two which lottery scratch card to purchase. Then purchase It. Then scratch the ticket at the counter. .Then if he wins, takes two or three minutes to collect the money. Or if he loses then ******* to the clerk and hands them the worthless scratched card back. And then says, oh yeah, I forgot my wife’s or my chewing tobacco and then pays for it. I go to Caseys on a frequent basis and this happens about a third of the time.

I want to kill people at a sub or burrito shop who slowly pick out every ingredient when they could simply say they want every single ingredient allowed. Same for sample guy at an ice cream place, I’m with Larry David, get two or maaaaaaybe three samples, beyond that it’s obscene.

I just got a LinkedIn email with the following heading:
New jobs similar to Chief Pizza & Beer Officer at Casey's

First job listed: President, Chief Clinical Officer, Oncology at a genetics company.

Yep, don't think I'd have to even change my resume or cover letter at all.
