I won the pool and $150 when MSU beat ISU in the elite 8. I know...but I would have gladly given up the money to go to the final 4.

Won something like $50 back in 1995 while I was working at First National Bank in Ames.

Never had much bracket success since then.

I probably got two final four teams once. That would have been my best bracket.

The year Kemba Walker led uconn to the title I picked them to win it all. Picked byu to the elite eight that year with jimmer. Ended up winning like 300$ in the office pool.

My best was the year Melo led Syracuse to the title over KU. Had both finalist right and Marquette with DWade in the final four as well. Picked KU to win it with the two Iowa boys though. If KU had won I would have finished in the top 20 on ESPN. Still finished top 100 I believe.

I was part of a group back home (in fact they're doing it tonight) that has been gathering for 30+ years for a player draft pool. Field a team of 20 made up of players from the field of 68. The points your players score are the points you accumulate. Typical draft system. Determine the order by draw each year. You got to do a little strategy, find high scorers who will also advance. You get towards the end weighing picking a guy who can drop 24 in one game, or someone who will score 7 for 3 or 4 games. Gotta pay attention to who's slumping and injuries. Brings a whole new dimension to March Madness.

Tons of fun! Became a tradition with my dad and grandpa to go to our yearly draft with the other guys in town. Missed like 5 years now living out of state. Frustrating I can't find interest out here to get one started.

I remember when I was in college at ISU and facebook did a bracket challenge, I had my final four all correct and picked Villanova over Georgetown in the championship. Had that occurred, I would've finished first and taken home $10,000. Neither of those two teams won their final four game.

How many different brackets do you guys make?

up until the last couple years, I printed off one sheet and filled out out. Even now when I do internet ones, I consider my printed one "official" and the internet ones usually just have a couple swaps anyway.

I may have had better brackets since then, but the closest I came to big money was a large pool in 1991 (yeah, I'm old. Shut up). If KU had beaten Duke in final, I would've gotten something like $300 (that's about $500 today). As it was, I got $30, which was fine, considering there were a ton of people in it, and since I thought taking Kansas that far was a stretch in that tournament. That's also the year I truly caught the pool fever, unsurprisingly.

(I still have some of the paper ones for some office pools I organized, but no time to check).

As much of a tournament fanatic as I am, I don't do all that well. I almost never do poorly, either, unless too many favorites win or unless a tournament is just nuts (2000, for example).

I correctly predicted Kentucky vs. Kansas back in 2012, with UK winning. Only time I've won the bracket pool I was a part of.

2011 would be my best bracket. Had UConn winning and had UConn, UNC, VCU and Butler in the Final Four. I correctly picked UK to beat Ohio St but felt UNC would get UK n Elite 8 to get to Final Four that year and was wrong there. I did have UConn Butler in the Final but as that tourney went on I felt like I made a mistake because i felt VCU was better then Butler that yr.

Close calls

98 stings. Not only did I pick a great bracket I had UNC, Utah and Stanford as Mt. Dew caps didn't have UK and UK F***** it up by winning the whole thing. I guess I should have picked the one cap of the 4 I didn't have. I picked the Final Four that yr but missed on the champ game. I had Vince Carter/ Antawn Jamison and the Tar Heels winning it. My Final that yr was UNC Stanford and it was Utah UK.

2004 was close too. I picked the Final Four UConn, Georgia Tech, Duke and OSU.I even correctly picked the Champ Game UConn - Georgia Tech, but I hated Emeka Okafor and picked Tech to win it all and lost a close one. Had I picked UConn I would have won the pool.

2 years ago I was numero uno in a national bracket group of 500,000+ people. I took a snap shot of it...lucky I did because the 2nd day of the Elite 8 blew up on me. Still had a great showing though.after the 1st day of the Elite 8

I picked OU over KU a long time ago. I figured it was hard to beat a team three times.

When I was at ISU a couple years ago, they had bracket challenges for intramurals.

I would enter the women's one every year and just pick straight chalk, all the way through, except for one game - because I knew a group of other people that were doing the same thing.

I got two intramural shirts that way when I hit the one upset I picked (like a 9 over an 8 or something)

I believe it was the year Kansas beat Memphis for the title, I had every game from the Elite 8 on picked correctly. I won an Intramural champion tshirt from ISU for that! (Didn't get 1st but around top 5 and I think the top 10 got shirts)

Haven't had a good bracket since.

Either last year or year before I had a perfect opening Thursday followed by a pretty solid Friday. Fell apart significantly in the next round but was up in the 99s on espn for a couple days.
