Best way to dispose an old computer?

Step aside, I work for the Environmental Commission - no big deal, really.

You can drop them off at an electronic waste facility. Basically they'll tear them apart, take all they can recycle out of it and dispose of the rest. All you have to do is drop them off.

But honestly, you can throw them in a stream for all I care. Hell, spray a few cans of aerosol out of the windows of your car while you're heading there. Working with environmental issues on a daily basis has caused me to hate the environment.

Take them to Goodwill. $50 tax credit per computer. Can't remember what the credit is per monitor, but I took 4 computers, 3 monitors, and a stack of keyboard/mice there last year and got a good tax credit out of it. They refurbish them and use them to either train people how to use computers, or if they're new enough, they use them in their own offices. Great organization to support.
