Just found out Bettendorf and Ankeny will be playing each other for the State title. Was just wondering how these teams fair against each other and how they have done in their previous playoff games? And who do you think is gonna win?

Cheering for the local town. But I really hate the state of athletics in Ankeny, it is insane here.

Just to let you know, with the exception of IC West, Cedar Falls and Assumption (the first time around), Bettendorf ROLLED over everyone this year.

Fri Aug. 31, 2007 Davenport West* W 62 - 0
Thu Sep. 6, 2007 Davenport North* W 0 - 50
Fri Sep. 14, 2007 Davenport Assumption* W 21 - 13
Fri Sep. 21, 2007 Burlington* W 20 - 49
Fri Sep. 28, 2007 Muscatine* W 47 - 10
Fri Oct. 5, 2007 Clinton* W 0 - 49
Fri Oct. 12, 2007 Davenport Central* W 56 - 14
Fri Oct. 19, 2007 Pleasant Valley* W 49 - 0
Fri Oct. 26, 2007 North Scott* W 6 - 35
Wed Oct. 31, 2007 Iowa City High W 35 - 28
Mon Nov. 5, 2007 Davenport Assumption W 35 - 14
Fri Nov. 9, 2007 Cedar Falls W 6 - 3

I guess the really ugly thing is this is a top-heavy conference, yet Bettendorf even took it to the best of the MAC - Muscatine and Assumption, both playoff qualifiers, and North Scott (left on the outside looking in).

I watched Bettendorf vs. Clinton. It was men against boys.

I think you mean City High. They played each other in the first round of playoffs, as usual. The score was only 35-28, but that tells nothing about the game. City High played Bettendorf like the Cyclones played Oklahoma- stomped all over them for most of the game, then made a couple dumb mistakes towards the end. That was some damn amazing football, and from high school kids to boot! If you can find the recording of the game, it's definitely worth watching- lots of fun.

Basically, on this side of the state, only two football teams matter - Bettendorf and Davenport Assumption. Bettendorf is a 30,000+ city that is serviced by one high school (Pleasant Valley technically has some Bettendorf in their school district, but all the good football players go to Bettendorf). Being a Catholic high school, ***-high just recruits all their athletes.

Wow, those are not the numbers I was expecting from Ankeny. How long have they been a 4A program? It didn't occur to me that they may have only moved up around the same time that Johnston did.

Do u know what there record is?

I would think that a major metropolitan area like Los Angeles would have 'Google'. If not, stick around a little bit. It is a wonderful site. Must not have made it's way to the left coast yet...
