What is the best website for buy accessories for your bike? I just bought a new road bike off Bikes Direct and want to get some stuff for it.

FYI, I highly recommend Bikes Direct. Great deals, nice bikes. Not allot in the way of accessories though.

If you need to buy accessories, I would seriously recommend local stores. I like Skunk River, Kyle's, Rasmussen's.

450 for a road bike, not bad, but Kevlar slicks and thick tubes are a necessity for me. I have many items, shoes, peddles , computer, saddle, bibs. You could easily put in double the base price if you don't have those things. Great find, though!

Can anyone recomend a good road bike for around $500? Looking for something to ride RAGBRAI this summer?.

Not to many new road bikes for that price unless you get a lower quality. If that is your price range then I would look on CL or Ebay or other classifieds. People are contstantly upgrading getting out of cycling and you can most likely find a pretty decent bike in this range.

If you have ridden at all and know that you enjoy it and plan to utilize the bike quite a bit I would reccomend spending the xtra cash if you've got it. I started cycling about 3 yrs ago and dove in head first and bought brand new on the cheap ($850) CDale, Alloy with low end components.

Knowing then what I know now ( I love cycling more than any other exercise related activity) I wish I would have spent the extra $$ and got better components at least. Sure you can upgrade but it costs as much or more than the bike new so its not really worth it.

Sorry for the long response just trying to give some insight.

Who did BRR this weekend? I rode my new cyclocross with studded front tire from Perry to Bouton at 2pm. Man that was a tough *** ride, they called it mash potatoes, my buddy biffed 3 times. It took an hour to ride 5 miles so we took Hwy 141 back, it took 20 minutes... ha

We left at 10 to head north. Took us 2 hours to get to Rippey. Awful going into the wind. Easy coming back.
