Good to see a relatively young conference pick up a couple Cougars.
Assuming those 4 go B1G... Utah and Az St would both be better than Cal imho. Side note, why Stanford and not UCLA? Seems like UCLA would be the much better brand. And if that was the case, then you really just stick to Az, Az St, Colo, and Utah. At least they are all big state schools, and pair well with BYU, Tech, and each other. If the BiG were to raid Oregon, Washington, USC and Stanford. I think our ideal targets to expand our footprint would be UCLA, California, Arizona and Colorado.
You want UCLA you almost assuredly get Cal.Assuming those 4 go B1G... Utah and Az St would both be better than Cal imho. Side note, why Stanford and not UCLA? The real question would be do you just take all 8 and go to 20 teams, have east and west that don't really interact much. Or pods and a 4 team CCG process. Lots o' inventory at least, and coast to coast...
I still think it's more likely the Pac/B1G raids the Big12 than B1G raids the PAC. Just my onion.
The press release said the four new teams were "approved unanimously by the eight continuing members." That's some very precise language, probably for a reason. Did OU and Texas even get a vote here?

I cannot verify myself, but I am under the impression that they are no longer invited to conference meetings. I think because they are confirmed to be leaving, they no longer get to make conference decisions like this.
I do feel a bit bad for them. For me, Houston or Memphis was a toss-up.
