Apparently I've taken a hallucinogenic. The PAC is re-doing their deal in 18 months, so...

If the SEC & B1G want to kill their competition they could do the following.
1. SEC offers USC & Oregon spots in 2 years.
2. B1G offers Washington, UCLA, Sanford & Cal spots in 2 years.
3. SEC offers Clemson & FSU spots in 15 years.
4. B1G offers Duke & UNC spots in 15 years.

With the PAC down to 8 teams in 2 years, they would likely be dead. (if so we could pick up UA, ASU, CU & UU)
With the ACC hurting (if not dead) in 15 years I'm guessing the remaining 10 would be scrambling. They would be in our position last month with no one good to add except perhaps Memphis. If the BIG XII opened up 4 or 6 positions for the ACC in addition to maybe adding 2 more out west, that would make for in interesting problem for the PAC/ACC offices to solve.

SEC at 20
B1G at 20
BIGXII at 20 or 24
PAC 12 at 2 or 0
ACC at 6 or 4

If so, I'm guessing the west teams would be rolled into the MWC and the east to the AAC.

Do you want to share my mushrooms? LOL :)

Truly potent! This is essentially a P2 plus everybody else. But it's only a short stretch past the P4 that a lot of people anticipate.

I do think if it ends up being a P4, then the Big12 and Pac12 are more likely to survive than the ACC. It's just so much easier for the B1G and SEC to take the ACC's best teams. Geography and culture (ie lack of fit with SEC/Pac12) will conspire against the ACC.

And before you say "GOR", just remember that if things look shaky because 4-6 teams are on the edge of leaving, the left behinds CAN be bought off by ESPN with a lucrative landing spot in their Big12 contract.

This guy (in the middle) has had some pretty good info (believe he is tight with the Baylor AD) as this has all been taking place. Here is his latest:

It was reported that the Okie State President flew out a day early to their Boise State game to meet with BSU President.

YIKES

If a third of what that guy says is true- the Big12 as a P5 conference is done. Adding Memphis, SMU and USF basically makes the Big12 a glorified AAC. It would be one thing if USF was actually in Miami!! Not sure how adding 2 Florida schools in Tampa & Orlando expand the Big12's reach. Same goes for SMU & TCU.

Hope Jamie & Wendy are working their Big10 & SEC connections hard.

I've convinced myself that things will work out. There will be a new normal and it'll be pretty good. A nice competitive conference with a TV deal that won't be Armageddon

But adding those teams is ******* Armageddon

We are not going to be in the Big10 or SEC. Ever.

Yes, we would be a glorified AAC. Not great, not awful.

Duh!
I am not buying that you keep adding teams to 14 or 16 and there will be more money. Not sure I agree with 365 there, but agree that B12 will see what happens with Pac12 and will likely make more money.
