I would think networks would appreciate the density and parity of the big 12 and not having to air some completely non competitive or non interesting game just because.
Sure you aren’t getting games like Ohio St/Michigan or Georgia/Alabama, but you also aren’t getting Vandy and NW and all the extreme bottom feeders of the larger conferences.
Haha, I can definitely see that. Nice thing about it though is that my wife can rewatch the same episodes over and over and I can take away something different from the dialogue each time.
Those numbers are big and flashy (and really good) but much of the draw is how the entire slate and down card does too. Which hurts the Big 10 when Rutgers-Maryland gets 700k viewers.
The Big 12 will likely never get the big headlines but will be more solid throughout their slate which will make them more attractive than the Pac-12.
You are adding UCF, Houston, and cinci, you are going to have a lot more extreme bottom feeder games going forward. Could say the same for BYU a lot of years. The Big12 is still in a great position but removing OUT for those 4 is still a huge hit.
It will be a big of a hit as the change in tv slots end up being after they finalize the divorce.

And ad costs are usually a lot higher the bigger the audience. I'm guessing ad revenue on a 4 mil viewership is more than 2 mil x 2.
I actually would challenge you to find more then one week where 4 different SEC games eclipsed 4mil viewers.

Something about the Big 12 vs PAC reminds me of the quote, "I don't have to be faster than the bear, I just need to be faster than you." And the Big 12 isn't getting eaten anytime soon.

Maybe a better indicator of the craziness here is I'm somebody who used to watch baseball tonight literally every day at 9:00, and I literally didn't even know the MLB playoffs had started.
