Big 12 Referees

I have noticed a trend to unfavorably spot, unfavorably rule on plays, call non-penalties and call very questionable penalties this season with Big 12 referees vs. ISU. Not to mention every single explosive or big play is reviewed and unfavorably ruled on as often as possible.

I don't think I've ever seen so many clear touchdowns, long runs and long catches negated in college football in my life.

It has gotten so bad that after watching the Texas replay, how can you not guess that Texas and ESPN are using that Longhorn money as christmas stocking stuffers for refs doing as they say?

Let me be clear: This has happened in every single ISU game, all refereed by Big 12 Referees, right? Shameful and shamefully obvious bias against ISU on a consistent ongoing basis.

My favorite was "the previous play of the runner being down by contact is under review" followed closely by "after review, the call of a fumble recovered by the offense is confirmed".

Anyone else catch this Saturday night?

How about that intentional grounding delayed call?? It happened right in front of the stupid line judge and he just stood there with his thumb up his butt. After a minute of talking it over he throws the stupid flag on the ground.

officiating has been bad all the way around. I think a lot of teams feel the same way we do.

The officiating for the UT may have been bad or not but the reason why we loss is because we did not play CYCLONE football.

And the pass interference call on the deep ball to Money late in the game. There were 3 flags thrown. Two at the penalty and one at the line of scrimmage on the opposite side of the field. Then he just picks it up. No way he was throwing the flag for the pi call...

I was listening to the pregame on the radio and Eric said Tom Robinson was the replay official. I knew we would in for an interesting night from the replay booth. I don't think he has ever done ISU any favors.

Big 12 Refs are homers to the big boys... same as when it was the Big 8 conference... however, our errors out numbered the poor officiating!!!

It is very sad that the refs feel they need to be the focal point of a game. Generally it is a well officiated game when you don't hear from them much during a game - those are the few refs that are not gambling on the game they are reffing.

UConn was horrendous... UT game was pretty bad, but I didn't have the advantage of TV to see replay's as I was there.

We must cut down on the stupid mistakes!! That is all there is to it!!

I do recall NU leaving the year after the magic 1 second on the clock FG to win the B12 by Texas. That never gets called in FB....well, unless you're Texas.

However, this is more systemic - go back and look at even the UNI game and the Iowa game. If this was just Texas, well, that's normal. You got to beat them twice to beat them. But UNI, Iowa and UCONN? They're not even in the conference!

Maybe that's why everyone wants away from Texas, I don't know.

This is as bad of a year for officiating as I can remember (except for the Iowa game).

My conspiracy theory is that the SEC and/or PAC XII is in bed with the BIG XII officials to make things even more unstable. I'm half serious too.

I just can't believe how much of an influence this crew had on the game Saturday - there was absolutely no rhythm to anything. It was painful to watch with all of the penalties, injuries and booth reviews. It was also my 22 month year old son's 1st game and we stuck it out until we finally scored in the 4th. It was already well over 3 hours of actual game time by then and I think there was still 11+ minutes left on the play clock.

the pi on the money catch was ridiculous. why waste time reviewing it?! if he caught it, he caught it. if he didn't, it's pi and a spot foul anyway.

and he did catch it and they negated it anyway, then spotted it where he caught it anyway. i couldn't believe the ineptitude i was watching.

again, not that it mattered because we only have ourselves to blame for the loss, but it was ********.

Worse thing about that play was they completely missed the 2 Texas O-lineman that were illegally downfield at least 15 yards before the quarterback even intentionally grounded. You could see the lineman hustling back to the line after they realized the screen throw never got off, yet officials didn't call a thing.....

Oh, I didn't even touch on all the holds, personal fouls, ineligible players down field, etc. that the other teams get away with against ISU.

If I was an opposing coach, I'd tell my players to cheat like crazy - the refs will never call it.

What? That 1 second put back on the clock was EXACTLY what should've happened. The ball hit the ground with a second on the clock. Seems pretty clear to me and any other person on the board who is an official.

Crybabies make excuses.

That might have been the "right call", I've just never seen any other team get the "right call" to win the game like that before.

Yeah, because it's never happened before, I know.

I'm saying it's more like the last straw that broke the camel's back, right or wrong, there has been as noted a clear advantage in calls over the years to a select few at the expense of everyone else. Right or wrong.

I think everyone can pretty much agree the refereeing was awful, but we didn't help out our cause with our play either. How about that Big East game where they called the missed extra point good, went and reviewed and still called it good. Even though it obviously missed.
