What? That 1 second put back on the clock was EXACTLY what should've happened. The ball hit the ground with a second on the clock. Seems pretty clear to me and any other person on the board who is an official.

Crybabies make excuses.

No, cheaters make excuses when they get caught. Crybabies whine.

Watching replay on FSN. Absolute joke of a called game.

Did not determine the game at all, but the officiating this year has been horrendous. You would think with the money college football makes they would be able to train their officials a little better.

Watching James White get called down twice on the goal line reminds me of ARobs TD against Texas where his whole body crossed the line, but it was not called OR reviewed.

It looks to me like the officiating it getting better. When a TX ripped an ISU players helmet off this week they at least threw a flag. I remember a guy ripping Blythe's helmet off and the refs did nothing. Blythe even caught the pass and the TX guy was laying on the ground with the helmet still in his hand.

My favorite (or worst) ref of the year was the head linesman from the Iowa game. I'd like to give refs the benefit of the doubt, but he just had a horrible game. Horrible job spotting the ball and missed a lot of obvious calls, including a horsecollar that happened right in front of him and would have gone uncalled if it weren't for another ref throwing the flag halfway across the field.

I think the underlying theme of this post is the refs were bad, "but we shot ourselves in the foot". Then the rebuttals of "stop making excuses" etc etc. in this game your right the officiating really didn't matter (cough cough). My concern is we will fall victim to some of this crappy officiating in a close game when it matters

How about it was either the second or third time they broke the huddle with twelve men before it got called.

We don't do ourselves any favors by playing so sloppy and making it easy for the refs to screw us at times, but that game Saturday night was just pathetic. I was hoping at one point CPR would pull a Eustachy and blow up like dynamite.

I hate the Big12.

the pi on the money catch was ridiculous. why waste time reviewing it?! if he caught it, he caught it. if he didn't, it's pi and a spot foul anyway.

and he did catch it and they negated it anyway, then spotted it where he caught it anyway. i couldn't believe the ineptitude i was watching.

again, not that it mattered because we only have ourselves to blame for the loss, but it was ********.
Pass interference is not a spot foul in college. It's 15 yards unless inside 15, then it's a spot foul.

How about when we were going quick tempo and they still had three guys trying to get off the field when the ball was snapped. How is that a no call. Was waiting for one of them to high five the ref as he went by him.

I was kinda thinking that since ISU has been called for so many penalties this year that the officials will see that coming into the game and will stereotype before the game. The officials have the eagle eye on the team because they have been found "cheating" so many times before. Just a thought.

The penalties are one things, sure there have been a few questionable calls going against ISU. What bugs me is the lack of calling a game the same for both teams and the number of replays and the way they are handled.

In order to fix officiating they need to hire full time officials like the NFL. These garbage refs need to undergo proper training and job reviews by the conference. If they screw up they need to get fired or at least go on probation. With so much money riding on the sport nowadays, why not spend some on better officials? Pollard needs to push for this as a part of Big 12 reform.

Someone asked CPR about that and he said tonight that he had no problem w/ those not getting called because as long as the players are trying to get off the field there shouldnt be a penalty per NCAA rules.

Right the Big 12 is ******* us. Get a grip.

You explain it then. Questionable horse collar by ISU.......penalty. Same thing by ut.......no penalty. Clearly breaking the huddle with 12 men, and watching a guy run off the field, no penalty on ut. Ball snapped by ISU with clearly 2 or 3 ut defenders still on the field......no penalty. Every explosive play by ISU.........called back. ut defender gets in the way of Reynolds and takes the most obvious dive ever.........penalty ISU. ut quarterback under pressure throws the ball to his tackle, with a couple lineman way downfield even..........delayed penalty ut after quite a discussion.

Sat by people who don't really get into the game that much and even they thought it was horrible. Heft and Walters even were quite upset with the officiating, and those guys are usually pretty reasonable.

Many Cyclone fans don't want to recognize the obvious because they know what that means for ISU athletics and fair competition. But yeah, refs never favor the big boys. Nope.

And that my friend is how nudges in game outcomes happen. Want to have some fun? Do an aggregate of longing and shorting ball spots for the last couple games for the teams and tell me what you come up with in the yardage difference.

The thing that has bothered me the most this year is the replay booth. Over and over you are reminded how the call can only be overturned with Indisputable Evidence, yet I can think of three times already this year where the call was overturned where there was definitely NOT indisputable evidence (2 against us and one for us).

1) UConns first TD (most disturbing since there was indisputable evidence that he was NOT in the end zone when he went down)

2) Reynolds catch against UT on the PI call. No evidence that his hand was not under the ball.

3) James White's TD against UT. When watching the review I was sure that he did not get in. Certainly didn't see any evidence that he WAS in.

The play before this wasn't reviewed and he clearly was in so I'd say we came out even on that one.
