I have a group of 5 that is looking to head down on Friday afternoon for the Friday evening games of the Big 12 Tourney. The question I have for all of you that have been there in the past, I have a number for a scalper down there that will find us tickets if we want him to. We have also thought about going down and trying to scalp them ourselves. The reason we would do this is, if we go through the scalper we have to pay ahead of time for the tickets and if for some reason ISU doesn't make the Friday night games we will be out that money. With all that being said I have the following questions:

1. How easy is it to scalp tickets?
2. The scalper is telling us $140 per ticket for atleast Friday night. Does this seem reasonable?
3. What route do you think is the better route? Scalper or do the scalping ourselves.

We already have a hotel room at Hotel Phillips, so that is not a problem.

TIA for your help.

If Kansas and Iowa State are in the semi finals that is going to be about right for pricing in the Upper Level corners.

Scalp. You'll be able to find tickets for $140ish if KU and ISU are playing in Friday's game. (see last year) Since you are downtown you may even be lucky to find a tech or TCU fan that will give you tickets for cheap.

Also, since we're most likely going to be the 2nd game on Friday I would wait it out. Just get in the door for your group and get stubs from people leaving from the first game. That is if you don't want to watch KU play....

Will we be able to stand outside and get the tickets from the first game on Friday night, or once those people leave do they have to get stamped to come back in? I am leaning more towards scalping ourselves.

Tickets can't be reused once you leave the arena. Also, you can't go outside and back in. Unfortunately, this isn't ISU football where you can grab a quick beer at half ;)

If Iowa State and Kansas are in the Friday night game good seats will be $200 to $300.00 or more. Don't believe what people put on here it just doesn't work. Wait and buy your tickets. I can't believe all the shxx people put on here that is not true. One of the best one is wait to people go out after their game is over and get their ticket and go back in RIGHT.

Yeah, but you can drink at the tournament games since they allowed beer back in last year.

You will not find a TCU or Tech fan because there are none. Baylor was in the championship last year and I maybe saw 10 of their fans.

$140 would be cheap for tickets if Kansas and ISU are playing. Once Kansas goes out tickets get cheaper. It seemed like tickets were $100+ for session 2 (ISU v KState) last year then $200+ for session 4 (ISU v ku) and $75+ for championship (ISU v Baylor)

You definitely want ISU and Kansas in opposite sessions on Thursday or that ticket will be expensive like last year.

You should of bought the all-session pass directly from Sprint Center when released a couple weeks ago. True story.

Ok, I am getting mixed emotions in this thread. 5 of us are planning on heading down on Friday night. Figure KU is still alive on the other side of the bracket. Here are the questions I have:

1. If ISU and KU win, they both will play in the same session on Friday night, do you think tickets will be more than $140 per ticket?

2. If we decide to scalp tickets, and we get random tickets throughout the stadium, what are the chances that all 5 of us can sit together? We are okay with sitting 2 and 3 if need be. I am asking this as I think people will attend the early game, with KU in it, and not stay for the late game, with ISU in it. So do you think we would be able to move around and sit by each other once the game has started?

3. If KU and ISU are still alive on Friday night, how early will we have to show up to get the tickets for the games? We are staying right down in the Power and Light, so showing up early is not that big of a deal.

4. Do you have an idea of about what time the pep rally is for ISU fans? The pictures of last year looked amazing and I wouldn't mind attending that while we are down there.

1. Yes. If Iowa State and KU are both alive you will be spending in excess of $175 a ticket to get in.
2. No chance of getting five together.
3. I would be there by 1:00 pm looking for tickets.
4. Usually about 3:30 pm or 4:00 pm

My apologies, I corrected it. If you really want five seats together I would try and go through Stubhub or a ticket broker.

We have a group going down Thursday for the weekend and plan to try and scalp some tickets. Worst case we watch the game against the street at P&L.
