A jacked-up ISU home game.
For the record, I want to complain early about student attendance.
I couldn't tell you whether I wanted Baylor or Texas before the game started. I just wish it had been a closer, hard-fought game than it was, wearing out the team ISU would eventually play.

no doubt... the game in KC means you guys will absolutely have the crowd edge, but no matter how much you want it to be, it's not Hilton. Hilton where Baylor has NEVER won a game vs. KC where we have won the last three.
as I have said many times, You guys are my second favorite NCAA team. not Big XII team, NCAA team... I love your coach and your team...
If I bet money and such, I'd have to put it on ISU... but no matter how many dumb jokes you make about Baylor and Drew, we are in our 3rd Big XII Tournament Championship Game under Drew and we were once 2-8 in Conference.
This is going to be a really good game between two teams that can absolutely be in the final 8 in the NCAA... perhaps the Final Four.
Niang breaks high to open gaps in zone. Drives to hole and Ejim looks for opening for passes. Kane penetrates zone exterior, and Cyclones dominate.

You haven't played a game in KC this year against an opponent with fans. We just won the Kansas state title against 2 teams that brought plenty of fans.
Keep thinking it's the same, but you're running into a crowd buzzsaw tomorrow night.
I agree with your last line. This could reasonably be a rematch for much bigger stakes later on.
Heslip was credited with only a couple of steals in Waco, but had quadruple that on poke away's on the high post entry pass... He will have to have at least that good a defensive game in order for Baylor to have a chance...
check out the post game meltdown thread from the Baylor game 3-4... I said pretty much the same thing... BU v ISU for the Big XII and then again in the Final Four.
other than those games, I'm a Clone fan.

Iowa State comes up huge in big games, (8-0 in games against ranked opponents not named Kansas this year) and tomorrow is when one of their preseason goals is right there for the taking. It is going to be a rowdy ISU crowd. I think we win big.
With the number of Baylor fans in KC tomorrow, it may feel like a home game for the Bears as well.

I really do like your team...and your coach. I totally understand the it's the Big XII Championship Dynamic. I doubt I'll be around tomorrow win or lose. It'd be awesome to win the Big XII in Football, Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball in the same year, but the Bears have done what they had to do... we will be a 6 seed in SA or better no matter what happens tomorrow. I'll be hoping for a win, but if it doesn't happen, I'll live... what happens next week is way more important.

I do like the match up of Baylor vs. Iowa State and how both of us got here. Baylor beat Texas, the face of Big 12 football, and Iowa State beat Kansas, the face of BIg 12 basketball. The 2 least loved schools for a long time in the conference just basically told the Big 12 up yours and now took over the show.
I hope Scotty Drew has fallen in love with his new toy, the 2-3 zone, and forgets that his worn but still working old toy, the 1-3-1, gave this same ISU team fits less than a month ago.
