As much as I hate to admit it as a Big XII fan, it is pretty clear the Big 10 ended up being the better league the last few years. They have 3 - Elite 8 teams compared to zero for the Big XII.

Makes me really, really sad.

The big 12's top 2 teams both had pretty major injuries to overcome. Not to mention the big 12 got hosed on seeding, with only one team seeded to go to the elite 8(Compared to 2 for the B10).

Had Niang/Embiid not gone down I think the B12 had a great shot at getting 2 teams into the elite 8.

Who cares? Has no Bering on ISU. Top 15 team, big 12 tourney champs. Great year for the cyclones.

Don't let tourney decide the whole season. Head to head was even I believe but in non con B1G really was not impressive.

The top teams in the Big 10 are better then the top teams in the Big 12. The Big 12 overall was the better conference.

7 teams in the Big 12 with an average seed of 5.86
6 teams in the Big 10 with an average seed of 6.00

The Big 10 has 3 outstanding teams in it. The rest of the conference is ok.

Top to bottom I still think the big 12 is better. Not much you can expect when 2 of the 3 big 12 teams looking to be set up for a deep run suffer devastating injuries. I think anyone would have acknowledged that the top 3 teams in the big 10 were legit but 4-12 leave a lot to be desired.

The top teams in the Big 10 > the top teams in the Big 12.
The Big 12 overall > the Big 10 overall.

They were very even this year. You can't completely base which conference is better on just the NCAA tourney alone. Too many variable like seeding, injuries, locations, matchups, etc.
If ISU got a 2 seed in place of Michigan or Wisconsin (which ISU was very deserving) who's to say ISU isn't in the Elite 8 and the team ISU replaces doesn't lose earlier?

You also have to remember injures matter. 2 of the top Big 12 teams were without key players. MSU is now healthy and playing a lot better, this isn't the same team Iowa beat.

Double round robin is the difference maker to me. Every team getting two guaranteed shots at the other both home and away. Also agree that the big 12 was deeper, which makes the double round robin have even more weight.

But people will use bowl season if it fits their narrative.

If the roles were reversed, this board would all be sporting their Philipps 66 studo shirts.

I agree the performance of the Big 10 teams in the tournament sure makes that conference look stronger than ours. But as others have said, we and KU had pretty significant injuries to overcome.

If the Big 10 is better then the Big 12 based on what is left in this tourney, then the SEC is the 2nd best conference, and the Pac 12, AAC and A-10 are tied for third.

The Big 12 had the most teams in at 7. Their lowest seed was a 9 seed. The Big 12 did not have the best teams, but they undoubtedly had the best collection of teams.

Hard to compare. With Embiid and Niang I don't think there is any doubt that both teams are in the Elite 8.
