Bobby Wagner packs 245# onto his 6' frame. But, yeah- he's a freak...

who is Bobby Wagner? I didn't see him on the roster.

Dobbins was 6' 245 lbs. Back in the days before spread offenses, you saw a lot of bigger or stout linebackers.

I have no doubt that the team knows the true numbers. I wonder whether the published numbers are very accurate, particularly when I hear how little head coaches care about things like depth charts.
Does it really matter? Coaches who are around athletes, can pretty much look at a kid and know their height and weight, give or take an inch and 15lbs. You look across the board at Big 12 and their is a pretty standard range by position. Sure there are a few outliers, but I doubt too many teams change their games plans because JGJ is now 308 instead of 296. Speed and technic are more important than weight. It really just gives fans something to talk about, and build excitement for the season.

Wagner plays for the SeaHawks. I believe Dobbins was 6'1"

You knew Dobbins was a pro by his 2nd game @ Iowa State.

Anybody have any pictures of these guys? I've heard several of them look like beasts. I'm excited for the D line next year, quality talent/depth like we've never had.

I am VERY excited about this year’s DL. Abosolulty stacked. But next year I am a little less certain. The DE spot should be fine assuming Uwazurike is back (if he has a great year and goes pro there could be some drop off). They should have a good group there with Petersen, Peterson, and maybe McDonald (technically a LB, but could also play some end) to go along with Uwazurike and some other young guys. So, they could absorb the loss of Bailey (and Leo) there. But we will also need to replace Ray Lima and Jamahl Johnson on the interior. There are some bodies (Lee, Josh Bailey, Robertson), but to to me I wouldn’t assume they will step in and replace the seniors in front of them with no drop off.

I am hopeful, and there is for sure more potential then we have seen in a long time. But not ready to say next year’s DL will be as good as this year. Nothing against the young guys but there are at least 3 NFL players (IMO) that are seniors this year and would not be surprised if Johnson got on a roster too. The young DE look great... not as confident about the interior guys after Lima and Johnson. But they could be just as good... we’ll see in a couple years.

Isaiah Lee will step in at the Nose spot nicely in 2020. I also think some of the current depth at DE will be able to move to Nose if they need it. Also, Enyi has the ability to play a 0 or 1 tech too.

Btw, Isaiah Lee is built like a tree stump and is far more athletically gifted than physics should allow.

They are pretty accurate off season weights. They weight in most every day and know how many calories they need per day to lose, maintain, or gain. My buddies son is one of the starting linemen, he told me as the season progresses its really hard for him to maintain his weight.

That's interesting. I know it's a grueling sport but if I was trying to balance school and football I'd be stress eating like nobody's business.

Fortunately, those young guys have all of 2019 to flash something, and give us a bit more reassurance. After all, who isn’t excited about a certain linebacker, when all we’ve really seen out of him is one strip sack? And that at a different position?

A totally amazing strip sack, but one single strip sack nonetheless.

Can you confirm or deny that Campbell wanted to suit you up next season but could not find a uniform big enough?

They're both only 6'1 - so 240 would be a very squat linebacker and I think would be too much weight for them to carry. Just my opinion, though. Noticed Tymar Sutton has dropped weight - he was like 5'10 230 if I remember which seemed crazy for a linebacker.

Who is only 6’1? Rose? He’s 6’4... I stood right next to him..
