A crappy team beating a highly ranked team isn't the same as becoming bowl eligible by beating an undefeated #2 team on national TV. Not really even that close.

I agree for the most part.

'92 NU upset could probably could qualify as more "shocking," but no way could it be a bigger win.

I'm not even sure about the "shocking" part, considering I doubt any expert would say ISU has much of a chance vs. OSU.

I don't know, Lumpys has a get good point. kNU was like #7 at the time and we hadn't beaten them since 1977. Nobody not even one single ISU fan thought we had even a remote chance and thought we'd lose by 40. I think against OSU people are actually considering the remote possibility that we could win.

But would a loss to UNI have cost Rhoads his job like it was going to with Walden? No.

Right, but this is for biggest win... Not most surprising win.

National TV.. stand alone game of the night, Bowl game on the line, Undefeated team #2 ranked team.

I want OSU to absolutely pound Tech, then they play us, for them that SCREAMS trap game, they play OU the following game, time to catch them with their pants down.

They have a bye week after us so the only way we'd be overlooked is if these guys are tired or overconfident.

Based on all this hype I imagine we'll lose by 35. Anything CF overhypes always turns out bland.

For us to have even the smallest chance to beat OSU, first Tech must not pull the upset this week. Otherwise they will come in and put up 100 on us.

Agree. We were headed nowhere as a program even with that win over Nebraska. A win over Okie State would be a huge stepping stone for this program in year three of the Rhoads era.

I think all Cyclone fans should be rooting hard for Okie State this weekend. I want them to come into Ames undefeated. We're a big underdog regardless of whether or not they beat Texas Tech, but them being undefeated would make an upset even more significant.

Texas Tech has quit the season. They've gone from Jekyll, to Hyde, to plain old "hide."

OSU won't score more than 30 on 'em, because they'll be that hard to find.

The fact that TT's very own senior day is going to be a sideshow isn't helping the Red Radishes, either:

Texas Tech's Adam James ends his silence - Big 12 Blog - ESPN

They have a very poor defense against scoring. OSU could have video game numbers on offense. I'd worry more about OSU if it wasn't in Lubbock, but man oh man, has Tech played very flat at home this year.

Go figure.

I agree that kNU was the biggest upset, but I don't think biggest upset is equal to the biggest win in terms of building a program.

What would be ideal is if LSU loses its next game, OSU wins, and strolls in here ranked #1 so we can knock them off, move just outside the top 25 before taking down the Sooners and K-State in short order and then we all get invited to Katy Perry's house for marmalade wrestling!

Come on, Western Kentucky! It all starts with you!
