The play by play guy also smokes plenty of weed. Only way you can explain that Ames is over an hour from Des Moines. Should be able to get there around 25 minutes.
If your only experience in going to Ames from Des Moines is some random schmuck driving you from the Des Moines airport you probably think they are an hour apart.

I would like Bill Walton if he were doing a blow-out non con game where I didn't care what is happening. He's entertaining, but not informative.

Bill Walton 30 for 30 on right now.
Grew 6 1/2" in 3 months in high school.
Not sure that's all that uncommon. I had something similar as my son did. I'm only 6'3" on a good day. My son is pushing 6'6". Growing pains suck!

Who is informative though?

With the score always on the screen and the ability to look up any stats like fouls, etc. on one's phone, is there even any need for someone announcing the game?

He may not have too many other options west of the Rockies if the Pac 12 continues to disintegrate...

I actually think the context of when I wrote this, I was in the other room, just listening to it. So, no, I could not tell what was going on.

Using your logic, you could just have no announcers or mute the sound completely. Which is what I do when King McClure is on. :jimlad:

Ha, that basically is what I'm saying. You might as well have someone like Walton giving us random memories of concerts or the town where the game is.

I can't think of anyone that I could listen to from another room and know what's going on.

Many laud Franschilla but he doesn't really call the game as it goes on and will go several possessions without saying hardly a word.

His 30/30 is on again. Great footage.

Yuge 'what if?' for his career vs. injuries.

I remember reading in his book that his back ended up being in really terrible shape.

I grew 6 inches over the summer before my freshman year. Knees really paid the price.
I was a 5'6" 150 lb 14 yr old 9th grader. Loved sports, played football and was on the basketball team.

I showed up for sophomore football pre-season workouts at 6'1.5", 185 lb 15 yr old.

Coaches wanted to know what my name was.
