What a terrible ending. Just stupid. Like they ran out of time and just had to cut it off.

last couple of episodes are still sitting on my DVR. Still making my way through the Witcher.

This entire last season has been pretty worthless IMO. It's at least making the audience think Red is dying but that seems too straight forward for this show.

The most logical ending for this show would be to have the final season be Red vs the FBI team he created with Red being the last name on the blacklist.

This is why I don't watch TV in general. Game of Thrones being the quintessential example of stringing you along for the eye balls with a garbage ending IMO. Give me movies with a beginning and end. Even a trilogy is fine. I loved Weeds but after a while they just turned the main character into someone I despise. She was my favorite part in the beginning.

Given the revelation of Red's illness in past seasons and Elizabeth's death (who he was grooming to take over his empire), it seemed rather inevitable that it was going to end the way it did (not necessarily the means, but the result).

That's funny...you'll see why...

I always felt this show may have worked better as serialized rather than procedural, especially when they started focusing more on Liz and Red's past rather than the blacklister of the week. I liked the dynamic of Liz always being pulled into Reddington's world and Harold and Ressler always trying to pull her back, but she became way too whiny and was kind of glad she left. I think the writers never had a clear path of what they wanted to do and never actually answered any questions.

The problem with GoT wasnt stringing people along. Quite the opposite. It was that it cut several elements and rushed many others because the showrunners wanted to move on. Instead of passing the torch to a new showrunner(s), they rushed the series and it ended up awful. GoT needed another couple seasons

Agree to disagree I guess, but I also didn't read the books to compare. Sanderson's books are enough of a commitment to discourage trying out other High Fantasy novels.

I didnt read the books either, my point was the pacing got much faster over the last few seasons and it hurt the show

Yeah, that's what I mean. They way it happened was just dumb. And the whole "rage against the dying of the light" bit came off super shallow. Just the last 10 minutes or so were really dumb IMHO. I actually liked this last season and liked the story they were building in the final 4 episodes.

gets killed by a bull in a pasture.

I wish there was a WTF emoji. I guess I'll have to read a recap of the last season.

edit: wow I didn't really believe you at first, then I read the recap. WTF. Give me another spoiler. What exactly was Reds connection to Liz? I forget when I stopped watching.

All they ever said was that Red was preparing Liz to run his empire when the time came. Other than that, it seemed Red was involved with Liz's mother at one time and gave his oath to care for Liz. I seem to remember a time when there was an envelope containing the answer as to whether or not Red was her father, but I don't think it was ever revealed. Hard to remember everything, the show lasted a long time and COVID put it on hold for a while.

Yeah, the last few minutes weren't stellar, but I'm not sure what would have gone down better. I guess Red died on his own terms...kind of??? Donald finally got his man...sort of???

I wonder how hard the props department had to work rounding up all those fax machines for that "intel room" scene a few episodes ago.

I was thinking about the finale too and then remembered I wasn't clear what Red's and Liz's connection was. We thought for a long time Red was her father but that seemed to not be it but it was never made clear.

I forgot about that. And a bag of bones too. It was never made clear what that was and it was just dropped. That is very frustrating.

Did we ever find out what Red was sick with? Clearly he was ill but nothing was made clear there either.
