From Chris Williams eariler...

Yeah, that's probably true, but the part I emphasized what that they were thinking about sending Mizzou to the pinstripe.

Yeah I could see that. But what kind of statement would the Big 12 be making to one of its partner bowls that it's going to punish a team and send them to that bowl? I'm not saying it won't happen, but that would be pretty tacky by the Big 12 to do that...

Not to mention it's totally up to the Pinstripe Bowl and not the Big 12 who they select. I'm sure the conference can try to convince them to take certain teams, but they can choose whoever they want.

Collegebowlprojections.com has updated their picks and they have us in the Pinstripe Bowl vs. Rutgers. First site I have seen to put us in a Big XII bowl.

They are also still projecting ISU in the Ticket City bowl as well (they forgot to change that one, apparently). They are also projecting that TCU doesn't get a BCS bowl, Mich vs KSU in the Sugar Bowl, Holiday takes A&M, Texas Bowl takes Mizzou.

Well, they aren't going to officially come out and say that, so everything will be ok.

The thing is...the bowls select who they want. The Big12 directly lobbying for one team over another is probably not going to work. They need to subtly help one team look better than the other if they want to affect anything...that would be the key.

If we get 2 into the BCS, Holiday is in the picture.

Agree with all of that. I do know this, if I'm the Pinstripe and I get the choice of ISU or Missouri, I don't care what the conference is telling me. That's a no-brainer...

And look at Mizzou's last home game attendance. That says a lot about that program. Good support when doing really well. Not so good at other times. For the bowls, it's all about fan support and buying tickets. Does Mizzou care since they are leaving? No. Might be Mizzou's last bowl game for a long time too!

Highly doubt we go to Kraft Hunger Bowl, especially now with a chance to get 2 teams in BCS.

That may be, but in the end it's all about money and selling tickets. They will clearly sell more tickets and get more money from ISU's fan base than Missouri's. If that's their choice, I would be stunned if they picked Missouri over ISU...no matter what the Big 12 tells them.

If the Big 12 gets two BCS teams, I think we are a Holiday lock.

If not, it will get iffy.

I don't think the Big 12 will get two teams which is total crap because this conference is THE BEST CONFERENCE BY FAR.

I just realized that I will be on a plane tomorrow when the bowls get announced. ****.

The only leverage the Big 12 has is to tell them you take Missouri, or we no longer continue our affiliation with your bowl.

Not sure if this would matter anyway - hope we drop that bowl ASAP.

I really hope this happens, I am with you on that....
