No. This always comes up and it's ridiculous. A lot of schools have engineering and architecture departments and none of them build stadiums as class projects. It's honestly asinine to even consider it. No offense.

I'm glad somebody said it first. I graduated with a CE degree in 2009, and there is NO way they should be designing anything that is going to be built. There is nothing close to enough experience. Sure, the senior design classes are good for the overall program, but its nothing compared to a real project.

Will never happen because of non-compete laws in the State. This is also why the Vet School can't offer cheap vet services to the public.

Those dang non-compete laws!

Imagine how much money the Univesity of Iowa would save if their law school students could represent the football players?

My apologies for derailing this thread.

When are you writing the check, Hoss?

I'm not the one whining, moaning and ******** about JTS being a POS am I.

I'm not the one who thinks that just by closing in JTS that all the issues with the ISU football program will be resolved am I.

This isn't about me, it's about all those who complain that JTS needs to be closed in, in order for ISU to start winning.

You want it bowled in, then pay for it. Simple. You *****, you write the check or STFU.

I feel my money can be better utilized in other areas.

Has ANYONE said that bowling in JTS will make ISU magically start winning? I don't anyone has ever suggested that. There's a difference between saying that our sub-par facilities are holding the program back (they are) and saying that fixing one of those sub-par will make us win instantly (it won't).

IMO, bowling in JTS should be whatever level of priority Rhoads feels it should be. He's the one who knows best about which facilities impact recruiting. It sounds like he feels the most important facility upgrade is making the football offices larger. At this point, I put that ahead of the stadium upgrade, simply because coach wants it more. The stadium upgrades might be next in line after that, but I don't know.

You love to sit back and throw words in the collective's mouth, when it just isn't true. People want facility upgrades, and they like to talk about it. The decisions about these upgrades are not going to be made by the people on this board.

And regarding "writing the check", do you really think most of us can just write a $30 million dollar check? You know better than that. You're just being a ***** for the hell of it.

No... you might save some money that way, but I think you'd get a much higher quality of work by hiring consulting firms rather than turning it over to the University Academics.

Nothing against them, but doing work is different than teaching it. I'd go with Engineers/Architects who are used to designing major construction projects, making deadlines, keeping a budget, etc.

Plenty of posters have said it over and over that in order for ISU to win - by getting better recruits - JTS must be bowled in. Plenty.

Plenty of threads about bowling in JTS stating that the number one priority must be bowling in JTS. Do you think I just make this stuff up? I have always responded that other facilities are more critical towards helping the program than bowling in JTS, only to be put down directly by you and others.

Do you really think I don't know that one single person on here can't actually write a $30M check. Do You? Do you know the difference between literal and figuratively? As I've stated over and over, but you are too dense to grasp it. If the fan base is so up in arms over JTS not being bowled in and continually complaining about it then step up and contribute the money to make it happen. Write the check or STFU already.

I like JTS and the grass. I don't think it's the liability some claim it to be. I don't think JTS is holding the ISU football program back from being successfull. The same can not be said about several other posters on here including you and your prior post on the subject - This is until JP and CPR made statements supporting what I have been saying.

I get a kick out of you changing your stance about facility upgrades based on where ever JP and CPR deem it most critical - which does not include bowling in JTS - after they came out and said as much. Which is what I have been saying from the get go. And now you are saying the same. It's too much, way to fall in line and be a good little Clone now that JP has made an official statement on the subject. LOL

Its not just about the stadium dumb ***. Its about the renovations that can happen in the Olson/Jacobson Buildings as soon as its done. Have you ever seen Iowa State locker rooms compared to the rest of the Big 12? Weight rooms? Lounge space? Video rooms? Can you tell me how many BCS schools have 4 hillsides? We're trying to compete in the Big 12 with MAC facilities. In some cases, the MAC schools have even nicer amenities than we do, which should NEVER happen (ex: Kent State's video board/sound system > Iowa State's the past few years).

The one place we are in line with everyone else (not named Oklahoma State) is the academic building. The Hixon-Lied is a very nice facility, and only a short Cy-Ride away from the football facilities.

Really, *******, your grasp on the obvious is underwhelming. You really do have a problem of following along a conversation, but don't let that stop you from posting. Oh and here it is for all the other DB's: Write the check. LOL

And THAT is why GoShow97 is on my ignore list (along with a bunch of hokeyes...or is it fellow hokeyes?). Bring up this subject and why it is needed and he suddenly gets all beligerant about it. Reminds me of Jeffrey "The Ninja" Reninga on the HR rivalry forum (aka JWRHawk). Now that the ISU AD is going to be clear of any state funding, what is your complaint now, Jeffrey? God, it will be a sad day for you when ISU finally does get this approved.

Wow. How did you ever get so full of yourself? I should probably let you in on a little secret.... Your posts on this subject are not informative, not original, and quite frankly show you do not have a clue about the subject at hand. Your posts do however display your over the top love of yourself in a "To hell with what everyone else thinks of me because I am the man" sort of way and your attention to detail when attacking other posters who don't share the same opinion that you have.

Your like the ugly girl that nobody pays attention to so you try to draw as much attention to yourself as you can by being as loud and obnoxious as possible. Yeah... some people will throw you a bone but it detracts from the subject matter and lends nothing to the conversation of any substance. Your vast knowledge about what makes a winning athletic program does intrigue me though. You must have a wealth of experience in the field I assume? Maybe you have been a BCS Conference head coach or an AD at a University with great athletic success? Was that a no? OH.... so you know about as much about it as the rest of the people on this board? Ok... might want to lose the attitude. Just a suggestion.
