That's awesome! The Hoiberg coaching tree is already growing some branches (or was Petey gone by 2010-11)?

Wow, I had no idea that the former coach had that kind of record. I always hear about Indian Hills and a couple other similarly sized community colleges close by.
Congrats Bryan and I hope it can turn into a full time gig.

Oh, and if you have any studs go through your program, you know where to steer them.

Both Kirkwood teams, men's and women's are dominant. The women especially are a title contender nearly every year.

For anyone familiar with the situation it's pretty crazy...Wags was the Fennelly of that program. He could have stayed there as long as he wanted. Not only is it surprising he stepped down it must mean he has a lot of faith in Petey.

Coach Wags is an awesome guy. Big Hawk fan but he loves him some Freddy. Wags is the AD and has a young family. He's got plenty to do.

I think that's a pretty mature move by Wags to take a "timeout" and re-prioritize...gotta respect that.

Also a great opportunity for Bryan to get some real experience leading a team/making the decisions....certainly an opportunity few young coaches get. Good for him (and obviously trusted enough by Wags to do a good job).

Congrats to Petey! Now as far as the GA opening, Dedric anyone? Wasn't he finishing up his Bachelor's degree?
