giving inside info /= spewing ******** stories a convicted felon told you.

As they said in Shawshank Redemption, "everone's innocent in here"

Ha cause that's all I did right? Since he's already a convicted felon he just doesn't deserve a trial right? Some people's view of justice is just absolutely appalling.

I'll leave it at this and you guys can continue to grill me if you want.

There are two sides of the story. Unfortunately with situations like this it is one person's word against another. I highly doubt anyone will truly know the truth of what happened besides the three that were involved. Sucks for Bubu, he may have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people or he may have done some really really dumb bad ****. Doubt anyone will ever know, but this truly scars Iowa State's bball program, as this is a hometown kid, and a cyclone favorite. Too bad.

I can't imagine where your attitude towards the Ames police comes from if you've put yourself in enough situations that have forced them to have "many encounters" with you

Maybe he and his friends are mad that the police didn't call them after they ****ed them?

I haven't read this thread, so if this has been posted I apologize. If they are proven to be guilty of 2nd degree sexual assault they are facing serious time in prison.

Penalty: Sex Abuse in the Second Degree is a Class B forcible felony requiring mandatory prison sentence of 25 years. It is also subject to the 70% rule for certain forcible felonies meaning that the individual must serve 70% of his/her time before even being eligible for parole.

  • Also carries with it the “special sentence” requirement which places the individual in the custody of the Director of the Iowa Department of Corrections for the rest of his/her life and in essence the individual is on lifetime parole which can be revoked and a 2 year term of imprisonment for a violation may be imposed for a first offense and 5 years for each subsequent offense.
  • Second Offense for Sexual Assault 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] or 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] Degree requires life imprisonment.

Let's wait and see what the evidence is before convicting Bubu. As a defense attorney, the fact that the charges weren't filed in May when the incident allegedly occurred raises a red flag. Of course, the delay could be due to having to wait for DNA results. Bottom line: we don't have sufficient facts re: what happened and, if it did, whether it was consensual.

Do we know when the alleged victim decided to go to the police?

He already had one, apparently they decided he was guilty of committing a felony....more than once

Maybe I've just had too many encounters with "the wrong" cops, but they have ****ed me twice, and ****ed nearly every one of my friends. Go ahead, tell me my friends are bad people.
Why do I get the feeling you're one of the people that would think trying this would be fun:

Less then a month ago. I heard Bubu was getting arrested at 530 this morning two days ago. I heard the story of possible charges a week and a half ago. So shouldn't have been too far before then.

I would say that you are hanging out with the wrong people then...but it could be that your friends are hanging out with the wrong person. I would really like to hear how the cops screwed you...I'm sure you were just hanging out at church doing your homework while setting up a charity for homeless people when they barged in...roughed you up and planted a bag of weed on you. Seems likely.

It's always someone else's fault right!

You've tried justifying assaulting a cop (including choking and trying to use a cops taser on him).

The odds that you and your friends are bad people? Rising.

Looks bad, but we'll see how it plays out. If the allegations are true and he gets convicted, then adios and good riddance to him. My niece is a freshman at ISU, and hearing about stuff like this makes my stomach churn.
At any rate, it's really surprising and disappointing news that puts a big damper on the weekend festivities.

If your high school friend was a felon, would you just stop hanging out with them?

Doug McDermott was buddies with Cruise in high school. He remains friends with Cruise, as they hung out recently.

I would never expect Doug McDermott to ever do any harm to any human, because I know how respectful of human beings he is.

I DON'T think "Why was Bubu hanging with Cruise in the first place" should be a question. The answer is simple, because they are FRIENDS. Who knows if this even happened, but if Bubu is found guilty, don't say it's because he was hanging with Cruise.

Time to make an example.... Who cares if Bubu is innocent of this crime.... The fact that he was hanging out with one of Ames's biggest idiots.. He should be kicked off.

I dont think I could ever cheer for Bubu again.
