Wrong.

Love the way Bubu plays. Quick, aggressive, relentless... But, we haven't seen him against anyone yet. Will he be able to provide useful minutes against Big12 competition? I hope so but have a feeling he will be over matched...

I don't know about that, he hasn't shown much of an outside game yet, but with the bombadiers we have, I don't see us facing a lot of zones if we hit our shots even some of the time. Bubu looks awfully quick off the drilbble to me. Other than that, I agree he's got the right mindset fpr this offense.

If nothing else, they'll be a lot more fun to watch!!!

I enjoy seeing him play, and he's a student section favorite for sure. How many other schools get to yell, "Booooo" when a player on the home team does something good?

I know it can never be proven, but I think Bubu would not be playing yet if we hadn't switched coaches.

John Walters dropped a Yogi Bear style "Hey Bubu!" after one of his buckets last night. It's was awesome.

Bubu is filling his role nicely and has bought into it. I really don't see him ever becoming a starter. But he definitely is a contributor. And will continue to be one.

A TEAM has many parts besides the starters. CFH knows this. And his players are ALL IN concerning what CFH wants and needs from them.

For example, last night EVERY player on the TEAM contributed, played and scored. That goes a long way in terms of building team chemistry.

This team plays tough D and yet scores a lot of points. We are looking to fastbreak on EVERY possession. The team is usually always well spaced and makes the opposing team defend the WHOLE floor. We look to be pretty quick, are constantly putting on defensive pressure, and give great help defense.

What a refreshing change.

I tend to not give Fred all of the credit for the chemistry on this team so far, chemistry is such a fickle thing, sometimes it clicks regardless of the coach, sometimes it doesn't work regardless of what the coach does.

That said, from listening to interviews with the players and with the coaches, they all are constantly talking about "knowing their role". Godfrey's role is rebound. Bubu's role is to play full court defense. The scout team's role is to get the guys ready.

And how everyone has bought into their roles.

That part of it I think is all Fred. From my perspective, he's done an amazing job of communicating with each guy as to exactly what is expected of them, what their job is, and why that is important to the team.

Making the game fun works wonders for chemistry.
See last year's sad sacks for example.

Fred has stated that Tyrus McGee will be next years PG. Bubu will be backing him up. Yes, Allen, Phillips, Scottie, will all be able to handle the point (and certainly offer us the flexibility), but it's not the same as having a true PG bringing the ball up.

We will also have Sledge, but let's remember that he'll be a frosh, and we shouldn't expect that he'll be a big contributor - rather he will have time to observe/ develop... Perfect situation.

I am really liking the way this is setting up. We do not/ will not have a single guard who can't run the floor in a transition game, AND play defense. (no Luccas). And when attempting to play like this, it helps to have competent depth - which I am thinking we wi have.

Next year should be very interesting!

Agreed. Wouldn't have it any other way. We got him and didn't have to spend a schollie. Can't imagine a better scenario.
You would rather waste a scholarship on a selfish jack***? Ok I see where you are coming from. I hope Bubu is put on scholarship.

Bubu would be on scholarship and playing if we hadn't switched coaches. He would probably be playing more because we wouldn't have gotten Anderson.
