So many options. I will take Hornacek, Willoughby, Grayer, Brackens, Lafester. How about those mismatches. We can spread the floor and we shoot the rock.

I first considered the most undervalued players in the game, which were:

C: Kelvin Cato ($1) - Has there ever been a more fearsome defensive center?
PF: Royce White ($3) - If he had stayed until his senior year, whoa.
PF: Zaid Abdul-Aziz ($3) - Second highest NBA draft pick in ISU history (#5 overall).

It was also important to consider the impact of players within the context of their era. Using this, Gary Thompson ($4) was perhaps undervalued compared to Fred Hoiberg ($5), as Thompson was named the Big 7 POY over a scrub named Wilt Chamberlain, who was so good he had already been playing pro basketball BEFORE even arriving at Kansas.

Kagavi Team # 1:

PG: Jamaal Tinsley ($5) - A magical player at elevating others around him.
SG: Dedric Willoughby ($3) - Prevents defenses from collapsing on Tinsley.
PF: Royce White ($3) - The match-up problem.
PF: Zaid Abdul-Aziz ($3) - Points AND rebounding. A bit of everything.
C: Kelvin Cato ($1) - Duh.

Kagavi Team # 2:

PG: Gary Thompson ($4) - The original Mayor.
SG: Dedric Willoughby ($3) - Can switch with Thompson and put Barry Stevens here.
PF: Marcus Fizer ($5) - Perhaps the best player in ISU history.
PF: Craig Brackins ($2) - The match-up problem, clearing lanes for Fizer.
C: Kelvin Cato ($1) - Duh.

BONUS: Assuming a bench can be built with $0 players, to balance the strong lineup of bigs, I have these backups among others:

PG: DeAndre Kane ($0)
SG: Tyrus McGee ($0)
PG: Will Blalock ($0)
PF: Jackson Vroman ($0)
PF/C: Waldo Wegner ($0)

If I could get Burton for 1 or 2 bucks hes on my team, with Cato for $1 making up for his defensive deficiencies

Royce and Cato are undervalued.
Fred and Victor Alexander are over valued.
If we are talking the best (most talented) five players in ISU history not just fan favorites.

Went with balance. Cato for $1 is the biggest steal in this game.

I picked the same lineup. It's got great ball handling, rim protection, and huge offensive threats both inside & out.

Morris, Willoughby, Fizer, Meyer, Cato

-Most efficient PG in ISU history.
-3pt specialist
-High efficiency scorer down low
-Rim protector
-And why not add Fizer for fun... I heard he's not too bad.
With Fizer Meyer and Cato we should be solid on the boards.

If we need to 'go smaller' (more traditional instead of a 6'8", 6'10", and a 6'11" on the floor) then we'll go with:
Morris, Willoughby, Stephens, Aziz, Cato.

When everyone else is tired (but Monte of course):
Morris, Tinsley, Hornacek, Ivy, Cain
Competition to see who can pass it to Ivy first and get the assist while Cain collects any missed shots by Ivy.
