It appears as though 2009 was the year this tradition got broken. It was time, and almost no one knew about it anymore, but still, I remember being just a little miffed that one of ISU's traditions just got dropped.

We need to get this started again IMO.

I wonder just how many people even knew about the tradition? I went to ISU from '97-'03 and this is the first I've ever heard of it.

It was that a player from the state of Iowa would wear #40 in honor of Chris Street. I think it was intended to be a one-year apiece thing, but I can't be for sure. It started as an Orr thing, and my memory tells me that it was Hoiberg and Meyer primarilly who told Floyd they'd like to make it ongoing.
