Bruns said he was pleased with how the OL played, improved over last year. I'm no expert on such matters so I'll take his word for it. The fact that we played seven guys there presumably means we have some depth, seven guys the coaches are confident in even with a couple guys out.
I thought they were good. At half time a couple fans near us were ******** about the lack of running game. At half time we had 7 carries for 35 yards. 7 yards/rush. The running game was fine, we just barely had the ball.

Nor should they. I was shocked when Lazard got his deal for the Jets and got a lot of "dumbs" for mentioning he was overpaid. Happy for him but not a great move for the Jets.
I feel like the Packers utilized his blocking skills better. Every time I rewatch that Kempt/Lanning Oklahoma game, seems like he plays a key role in every score.

Hakeem isn't going to blow past anybody off the line of scrimmage. He's fast once he hits his stride but NFL is about timing routes and if you're not winning those you're never going to play.

I think it's more to do with his route running. He has enough speed given his size but even at Iowa State he wasn't exactly known for his varied route tree.

Hard to make a living out of "Mossing" people at the NFL level.

That's kind of my point. He isn't going to create separation early. Not enough acceleration in a phone booth so to speak.

Nah, that’s a campbellism. The real story is they had to amputate his leg all the way up to just above his hip and he’s currently in ICU in a coma.

... but might be able to play later this season on a prosthetic leg... so all teams we play this season should probably prepare for him to be out there as a possibility.

"Could come back later this season" (assuming MC is being straightforward there, who knows) and in the hospital suggests a broken bone to me. If you're in the hospital for knee ligament surgery you aren't coming back within this season.

Not exactly sure.

MCL and meniscus are returnable ones. LCL is also. ACL is the one that basically shuts people out.

So…. what was going on in the offseason/training camp. This is a crazy amount of injuries before the first game. Especially for expected starters/impact players.

All this is speculation/rumor, but all these guys injured before the first game:
  1. Willich
  2. McClaughlin
  3. Jalen Travis
  4. Brahmer
  5. Surges
  6. Brezina
  7. Hasert
I’m not necessarily saying anything, but just mentioning this is a new strength and conditioning staff.
I think some of those injuries are of the "dinged up" variety.

I think we all need to chill out a little with regards to some guys being injured. Every team deals with this. NC lost their starting QB for the year in their 1st game.

There are posters in other threads who are so panicked, they want to play DB's at LB as if we have no more LB's left.

Next man in. And a lot of times, guys step up and seize the moment. Rocco's a perfect example.
