Sometimes it’s hard for me to remember that technicals give the other team free throws and possession which most likely leads the other team to score points, and with this being basketball, seems to run counter to one of the two very most fundamental aspects of the game itself.
Yeah, the best coach in Big12 history sure is scared of getting technicals.

It has really hurt his teams and his conference record.

Everything.

As a player, you expect your coach to have your back.

Especially one you followed from a previous school.

Everybody pushes ISU around and gets away with, well, everything.

Have for years, especially in conference play.

Players are told to leave the ref stuff up to the coach, but when the coach NEVER does anything, what then?

Obvious the frustration for Grill has been building.

Me? I prefer fighters.

This is nonsense, jfc

I just can’t imagine this couldn’t have been framed differently by TJ. Kid obviously has some stuff going on and I don’t doubt it made it’s way to the locker room. He also busted his tail here and played hurt this year. Surely he could have framed it in a way that didn’t make it look like he got the boot for being a bad teammate. We probably owed him better than that.

You’re not exactly a glowing light shining on the value of fake outrage right now. If you disagree with the fundamental aspects of basketball then you may want to choose a different sporting endeavor to dedicate your most likely large amounts of idle time to.

This is kind of where I land. Maybe everything happened in the best way, maybe the only way.

Hopefully they look at how everything went down and see if there was something in the process that could have changed. Or if this outcome could have been avoided.

I just wish TJ would hold officials as accountable as he apparently he does his players.

I'd be upset if I was Grill too. That one game, maybe WV away, where he had two absolutely phantom fouls called on him back to back, and TJ didn't do anything. Even the announcers were calling them horrible calls.

Official.......maybe not. But something will in some form because people already know.

We will never know the entire story. People know but they tell other people the parts they want to.

How many technical fouls has Bill Self gotten this year?

Just a really sad development that kind of seemed unavoidable. Caleb's tweet about brought a tear to my eye. As someone who supported a seriously mentally ill family member, I fear for Caleb's safety. He no longer has his "team family." Hopefully TJ can remain in his life and his actual family is able to guide and care for him and he moves in a direction that leads to a healthy, happy life.

You provide one single source of actual information that confirms this and then take it to the game thread.

Pathetic.

TJ is constantly talking to the officials. He doesn’t have to make an ass of himself to try and make a point. Maybe you should take some notes from TJ.
