Last year is irrelevant. G5 Utah State scored 14 against Iowa. P5 Iowa State was only able to muster 6 more points. Why is the offense full of freshman and sophomores?
Because, like I’ve mentioned in other posts, the extra Covid year threw things off. We had our best/oldest roster ever 2 years ago and guys like Tyler Moore and Eli Sanders were behind older guys like Hanika and Jirehl last year (who were only in their first year of real action because they were behind the best RB and maybe TE in the history of ISU). Our would be Jr. QB isn’t on the team so we’re playing a RS freshman. Daniel Jackson hasn’t been able to stay healthy and we’ve had a stud transfer WR come in the last few years.

Is Lazard the only “high rated” receiver to really make an impact?

The jury is still out on those young guys (minus Brahmer, you can tell he’s going to be good) but I haven’t been impressed with the wide receiver development.
Jackson hasn’t been able to stay healthy and Gaines is still young and is behind older guys, but, IMO, he may still be one year in the weight room away from playing. I know Ngoyi was in a walking boot in spring ball too so idk what he had goin on, but with how talented our TE room is, we’ll see more 3 TE sets than 4 WR sets

I agree our WR development hasn’t been great, which is why I’m glad we hired a new WR coach

Throwing over the middle against Iowa is not a good idea lol.

We had a lot back in 2021, but so did everyone else.

Lol you're still a wuss. Stop calling people Madden all stars when you're guilty of worse.
I’m a “wuss” because I passed on information I was given and you’re too sensitive and got triggered by it because it went against your belief? And now you’re saying *that* is worse than saying someone’s a madden all star for acting like they know how to run a college football program? LMAO get over yourself, you clown. I’ve already said I didn’t agree with the McDonald assessment and am glad he got drafted where he did

So this Covid year thing only impacted ISU?

And the staff apparently was caught off guard and didn't recruit or use the transfer portal to address any needs?

Remind me again, what are we getting for paying the head guy $4 million a year?

No you're a wuss because you're in here playing your higher than mighty game again and you were made a fool before because of that very situation. Then when called on it you lash out.

Yikes, I didn’t realize you were the message board police.

I’m acting high and mighty for calling a recliner warrior a madden all star because he thinks he knows how to run a college football program? Lol get over yourself.

Apparently it is for you.

Covid only impacted ISU?

Nowadays ISU pays $1million to its head coach per victory?

How is ISU's P5 record the last 20 games? Good?

Tell me more about this "greatest coach EVERRRRRRR"!

Did I say Covid only impacted ISU? You seem to really like to cherry pick and conveniently are looking at last year (a rebuilding year with players playing significant time for the first year) and this year…unfortunately another rebuilding year due to graduates and losing 4 starters, 3 at skilled positions. It’s not very common for guys to play 5+ years, so our roster construction got thrown off due to this.

It’s really not that a difficult situation to understand but it’s apparent you’re not able to comprehend it and just want to complain.

Will you still be on here complaining next year when all of these freshman and sophomores are winning games for us? Are you going to be still crying when we’re back in a bowl game this year?

Oh, and statistically, Campbell *is* the greatest coach EVERRRRRR at ISU

There is deserved criticism for how the offense has performed but also A LOT of over-reacting.

However, it was a little depressing listening to CW and Blum’s pod on Wednesday saying “if we can get to 20 I think we win. Now can they can get to 20 is the question”

I’m sorry but we should not be hoping to score 20 against Ohio in year 8 to win.

Not a fan of the, we have a great defense, so our offense just needs to make a few plays and we win. That hasn't been a winning formula for a couple years.

I am hopeful that the staff has been conservative so far this season to bring Becht and the offense along slowly. With the mindset of building on the fundamentals, to be a much better offense in Oct/Nov.

But at some point, we need to be more aggressive. Our coaching staff should go into games trying to score 30+ points. If the opposing defense steps up great, but we shouldn't limit ourselves going into the game.

I'm just looking forward to beating a MAC team by 7 or fewer points, and then watching this Board fawn over what a heroic accomplishment that is.
No one would fawn over that winning by 7 or less would cause total meltdown on here.

LOL. LMAO even. This staff? Not if it meant taking risks and throwing deep or trusting your QB to audible. You'll get slow developing runs from shotgun and like it!

Why worry about a bowl game when even if we make one, Campbell will be ill-prepared for it, and will continue his nonsensical risk-free offensive strategy?
