With the current players and staff- the short answer is-- no. With a new D coordinator and 100% improved play at LB, maybe.

What did he say that is completely ridiculous and shows that he has no clue?

That Iowa State isn't going to be the worst team in the college football next year.

You can really tell his ability to ******** himself about how great it iola is has diminished. So he has to run over here to wallow in our misery.

Pretty simply, it comes down to close games. This year and last, the difference between being going bowling and being a bad team are a few points each game. The difference between a 6 or 7 win season and a 3 win season next year will have everything to do with winning close games.

That comes down to coaching and players making plays at key points in games. So far, I see no reason to expect that to happen.

I can't access any of his posts prior to the beginning of September so I can't give specific examples, but I remember him being pretty optimistic about the team's progression this season. I haven't seen any sort of progression. This is exactly what I expected when I looked at the defensive side of the ball, and I have to admit the offense has been even worse than I thought it would be. I figured Mangino would be able to do more than this.

News Flash: No one gives a flying **** what you predicted for our season. Have a nice evening.

To the OP's question, NO.

I really hope I get to be wrong and eat crow pie. But no.

I'm going to go there... For being a former player, I have to admit you've shown me in my first 6 months of posting here that you really have no clue what you're talking about. At first I thought I'd pay close attention to what you say because you probably have some legitimate information. So I did pay close attention, and very little of what you said prior to this season has actually bared fruit. I see no reason to take your prediction for next year seriously. There are a ton of posters on here who seem to have a better grasp of reality than you. Maybe your "sources" are just a little too wrapped up in the program in order to see things clearly.

Just my opinion. Let the blasting begin.

*For the record, the only prediction I've had wrong on this board was the outcome of the Iowa/ISU game and I was a grown man and ate my crow for that. My predictions on the outcome of this ISU season have shown to be very accurate.

As far as next year goes. No way a bowl game will be reached unless there's big changes this offseason.
Kurt's a good guy, no reason to flame away. No one can fault him for drinking the Kool-aid 365 days a year.

Nope, no depth, no fundamentals, need a lot of help on defense especially up front and LB's. Need road graders up front on offense.

Defense allows offense into second, third level to much, not good enough protection on offense for plays to develop or open holes for running backs.

We're going to be 2-10 this year, the schedule isn't easier. The defense will still suck. The offense could be average.
No, we won't make a bowl. Especially with Captain Rhoads in charge of things.
Average for us offense.....
