Normally when a team gets 20 wins they got a solid chance at the Tourney... I am wondering what everyone thinks OUR chances are at making it????????

Slim. we'd need 9 more conference wins and I don't see us going 10-6 in the Big 12 this year. I'd be estatic if we did but we haven't even played the tough teams yet. We have Kansas and KSU twice, we always seem to struggle at Colorado, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, it's not exactly an easy schedule...

Nice optimism, but I don't see it happening. I really think 8-8 in the Big 12 would be a great accomplishment. Even though they played great last night, I still see us being up and down this year. Plus, the Big 12 is pretty tough.

I can't see us getting 9 wins out of our last 14 games. I think 7 wins is our max, which would put us at 18 wins for the year and in great shape for a NIT bid. That's going to take a great effort from our guys however. We need 6 wins out of our last 14 to have a shot at the NIT, 5 more and we might barely have a snowballs chance in Hades.

Plus we need to go 11-5 in conference to get 20 in the NCAA's eyes since the ND game didn't count towards our win total for tournament consideration.

I still think this team is looking at 4-6 wins in conference play. 8-8 is best IMO.

We are seeing the typical optimism after a good win at HOME. This team still has a ton to improve before any tournament is even considered.

Here's my thing, while we've played 2 competitive games now to start the Big 12 season look at what happened last year. We were nearly 3-0 to start after almost beating Kansas then we came down to reality. I think the conference is tougher this year and while we are better than last year probably 6 or 7 wins right now is going to be a tough task. We could easily be 2-3 after 5 games.

We are a better team than we were last year, don't forget that as well. I agree with what you are saying, but you have to look at it from both angles. The team last year lost a couple games we easily could have won and ended up 8-8 in the conference, this team is just as good relative to the rest of the conference as last year's team was.

I was wondering who would be the first to talk tourney after one big XII win. I won't squash optimism. Please continue.

I think if we went 11-5 in conference, 20 wins would be enough to make the tourney. Unfortunately, I just don't see that happening.

Lets just hope we can get enough wins to make the NIT possible. Lots of good teams were left out of it last year now that they shrunk down to 32 from 40.

After a loss...the wheels come flying off - fans want to slaughter the coach and yank schollarships away from players.

After a win...the sun comes out and suddenly we're much better than we were 2 couple hours ago.

Last night was awesome, don't get me wrong. I was very surprised and thrilled. I saw some things from our team I didn't expect to see until very late this year at the earliest. However, getting 20 wins would be nothing short of amazing/a miracle. It could happen, but many stars would need to align...

in order for us to go 11-5 in conference that means we would have to win atleast 3 games on the road, which the big 12 as a whole is 1-9 so far on the road this year with that one win being Kansas at Oklahoma. Now, 3 games on the road is (loosely stated) possible (Colorado, Nebraska, Tech, MAYBE Mizzou), but thats also saying that we will beat Kansas, A&M, Texas, and K-State at home. Just don't see it happening. 4-6 conference wins, tops.

We need 5 more wins to be .500 or better on the season. That should probably be the goal.

IFFFF, we win this weekend against an OSU team we should beat at home, then I'll start thinking differently about our prospects. Only then though, because after that the schedule gets pretty tough.

Teams like ISU, that are a long-shot to get to 20 wins, don't lose games like the one we dropped to Baylor. Another game we "should not have won", but were playing very well in - just let it get away with a long scoring drought.

I don't think that will be the only game we do that in.

If we (granted optimistically) win the games below and win 2 in the tournament, we come up 1 game short of 20. But if the ND game doesn't count, then we're 2 short. It looks like a huge stretch at this point, but I thought winning last night was a huge stretch too!!

Go clones.

NU - 2 wins
OU - 1 win
CU - 2 wins
MU - 1 win (already have this one)
OSU - 1 win
TT - 0
UT - 0
TAM - 0
KU - 0
KSU - 0
BU - 0
