This is the bowl I want. My brother just moved to Southern Georgia, so I could visit them and stay there and drive on down for the a night or two for the game. He has already told me to come on down. Less than a 5 hour drive from his place to Orlando.

This, THIS, is why I hate the Big XII bowl game list and the Big X has so many overrated bowls. Michigan State is awful and they are projected to a Jan. 1 bowl game. They've lost to Arizona State and NORTHWESTERN. Terrible.

January 1st only matters in the minds of middle aged men. Hasn’t meant anything since the BCS took over and means even less now that there is an actual playoff.

The only people that brag about January bowl games anymore are Hawk fans. Literally no one else gives a ****.

If we made this bowl I would have to drive. Just checked Southwest and prices were outrageous.

Per Wiki --- the convoluted naming history of Camping World Bowl (that’s my subtitle, not wikipedia’s)

Camping World Bowl was founded in 1990 by Raycom and was originally played at Joe Robbie Stadium outside the city of Miami. It was formed under the name Sunshine Football Classic, but due to corporate title sponsorships, was never actually contested under this name, nor even referred to as such except during brief intervals between corporate sponsors. During its Miami existence, it successively went by the names Blockbuster Bowl, CarQuest Bowl, and the MicronPC Bowl.

In 2001, the bowl changed hands, and was relocated to Orlando. The bowl briefly became known as the Tangerine Bowl, a historic moniker, which was the original title of the game now known as the Citrus Bowl. Foot Locker, the parent company of Champs Sports, purchased naming rights in 2004, naming it the Champs Sports Bowl. In early 2012, naming rights were agreed to by Russell Athletic for games through 2017.In early 2017, Camping World signed an agreement with Florida Citrus Sports to be the new title sponsor of the game through 2020.

As far as bowl games go for ISU a game in Florida against Miami is about as good as ISU can hope for with respect to recruiting. The whole post-season exhibition farce known as bowl games and a limited, rigged CFP is why I find myself watching the NFL more and more and really only watching ISU & Iowa play anymore. Its really too bad CFB can be a fun product to watch but instead of having a real playoff like FCS, major CFB wants to have a WWE approach to its post-season.

What's with our history and playing on a field that either belongs to or is close to the opponent's home?

- Humanitarian Bowl (played Boise on their home field)
- Independence Bowl in Shreveport (about 5-6 hour drive for Alabama)
- Liberty Bowl first time (about 5-6 hour drive for Tulsa)
- Pinstripe Bowl (1 hour drive from Rutgers)
- Liberty Bowl second time (played Memphis on their home field)

Can we play Washington State in Florida or something?!?!

:D
