I firmly believe that Pele goes to SDSU. However, I find that with Royce not waiting a few weeks to announce this might mean that we are trying to get Pele signed and maybe Fred said hey, maybe you should announce sooner than later.

Not saying pushing him out just saying that they already knew he was going to leave.

Surprised the announcement is coming this soon. Would have figured we wouldn't know until April at the earliest. Oh well - if true, good luck to Royce in the future! Sad to see him leave!

I honestly think he made the decision quickly to help Fred and the team out. Let the staff know what they are looking at in terms of scholarships, let them pursue some guys if we have an opening, not have this hanging over the team, etc.

Yet another example of why Royce is ******* awesome.

Last night's tweeted pics of his new wings tattoo was his statement about spreading his wings and FLYING to those that doubt him...

Don't see any way Gibson starts. Has to develop something over his left shoulder and his defense needs to come a long, long, long ways.

It will take something huge to keep Ejim from starting. He's the glue guy and best interior defender.

It sure sounded like this was going to happen when Hoiberg was interviewed on Monday and said Royce outplayed all of the high first round guys he faced in the NCAA tournament. It sounds like the biggest hurdle for him won't be getting drafted, but dealing with the rigors of NBA life and travel. Good luck to him, I hope he makes it. The good news is that if he's drafted in the first round, which seems likely, he'll have guaranteed money and hopefully he'll handle it wisely.

In hindsight, I think I knew the night of the Kentucky game that this would be his last game. I'm not sure if there were two lineups in the country better than UConn and Kentucky for proving his ability to play at the top level, and he sure did.

I'm hearing that there will be a press conference today at 2:30 but I cannot report if he is staying or leaving. My sources can't confirm anything at this point. My best advice is to sit tight until we hear something from Iowa State or Royce himself.

Only thing I am bummed about is not getting my butt to Ames more often to watch him play in person as much as possible.

Go get 'em, Royce

This was my thought as well.
