Fred is in the Cupid Region

KFAN in Minneapolis, CommonMan Show, collects the ridiculous statements for the year that are uttered by moslty sports athletes or commentators and put them in a tourney for people to vote on.

Not sure how his statement was preposterous. Everyone had already penciled in UConn to face Kentucky like we had no shot at beating them.

Yeah, this. Everyone was talking up the big UConn\UK matchup like there was no way anything else was happening.

If I remember correctly **** Vitale said UCONN would advance "easily" and face Kentucky in the next round.

This guy called it preposterous because we were the higher seed. He obviously didn't do his homework because everybody said we were gonna lose.

It's preposterous because it's true? Yes, we were a higher seed, but nobody gave us a chance. On the selection show they even mentioned the Uconn Kentucky matchup like it was a given, and didn't even entertain the idea that Uconn had to play us first, much less beat us.

Two things.

1. Apparently I'm the only one who can't get the link to work. I get the K-Fan website banner with a mostly blank page.

2. Didn't the guy a bunch of posters love to hate say that it wasn't a slam dunk that UConn would get out of the ISU game alive when his show mates were already talking about a UConn Kentucky matchup?

You know the guy; wears his shorts backwards and picks fights with Marcus Fizer.

EDIT: Maybe I'm not the only one...looks like possibly Farnsworth may be having trouble as well.

Yes, I get the same thing. It has to do with plugins not agreeing with our crappy IE browser at work.

Why can't someone just put the statement in this thread?

Fred Hoiberg: "We've been underdogs all year. Nobody gave us a chance yesterday against Connecticut and we still find a way to win."
Note: Iowa St. was #8 seed in NCAA tourney, UCONN was #9 seed.

CF needs some poster training. If you see something really stupid and ridiculous on an obscure website IGNORE IT. All you do when you make a thread about it is drive pageviews and ad money their way. Save your outrage. The ESPN whining is bad enough, but at least when you whine about ESPN you are whining about something that someone was paid to create. When you whine about Bleacher Report or some random blog you just look stupid yourself.

I think everyone is taking it a bit too serious. IN context it is funny that Fred said no one, but according to the seedings, ISU was the lower seed. Yes, it was true that most pundits thought of CT making it thru. The statement would not be in there if Fred Said, "most didn't give us a chance" instead of "Nobody"

Anyway, not as funny as Trent Richardson who said he mishandled/fumbled a lot due to his jersey having double numbers so the front was slippery. Or that guy hwo said horses lose hundreds of pounds in a single race.

I agree. People on here are a little too sensitive. I listen to KFAN and the preposterous statement tourney is pretty fun. I haven't looked at all the statements yet, but a lot of them are true to some extent. They're just exaggerated a bit too much.

Guy on the website almost went full d-bag on his picture. Put a goatee on him or some wraparound shades, and KXNO might hire him.
