Saw Kolar was 2nd team PFF all american. Selfishly I would hate to see him go but if he gets a top 3 round grade he should probably declare and start working towards that second contract as soon as possible considering how short the earning window is for most NFL players.

Agreed. It hurts short term, but being able to put guys in the nfl early will only help the program with attracting big time talent. Plus at least it’s a position with a ton of depth, the drop off would be less than other spots.

Seems like he needs another year to add some muscle but if he is guaranteed to make a roster then you can't fault a guy who wants to make life changing money.

I assume he will go thru the evaluation process and that it will depend on the feedback he gets.

Charlie is a very good receiver, but not a great TE, yet. Runs goods routes, catches the ball great, not a great blocker, tends to get caught using his hands to push off. He had at least a couple offensive PI calls where he started blocking a guy on what was essentially a pick play. Just a few TE learning things to work on. Next year they will be looking at him hard, and he will be closer to his degree.

Very fortunate to have him as a Cyclone.

I think he plays one more year. Puts on muscle, finishes his degree, and plays himself into the 1st or 2nd rounds.

He has the ability to increase his draft stock (and thus his earnings) with another season.

I agree, unless his 40 time is 4.65 or better. Then I think that dude is Gandhi.

This is the correct answer. I don’t know if he will or won’t. Certainly would love to have him back but to say he shouldn’t seriously consider it is silly.
