Yeah it was at Sips we were kicking him out for getting in a fight. We had him all calmed down and had him standing off to the side as we were throughing the other guy out that he got in a fight with. Then some idiot decides to dump a pitcher of beer on his head then Alexander went off (the guy got up on a stool to do it). We had him tackled on the floor one guy on his head another on this torso, and another on his legs until the cops came to get him. He was a beast when he was pissed off. After he got in trouble he never played again.

Hey Flander1649, I remember hearing about this and the whole thing seemed a bit controversial. There were suggestions that racial slurs were used and that he was provoked by beer being dumped on him.

Couple questions. Obviously, the beer part that we heard was true. Was he defending himself in the first fight or did he provoke it? What happened to the guy that dumped beer on his head?

I am assuming that Chris must not have had many friends with him. Otherwise, you would have probably been dealing with a good old fashioned brawl after the beer pouring incident.

Thanks.

Provoked or not you have to be a bigger man and back away from crap like that. Especially in a bar where most likely you are dealing with some drunk idiots plus the fact you are an athlete makes you an even bigger target.

I'm sorry but if someone poured a pitcher of beer on my head, no way I'm just walking away. No way. I can't blame Chris for this. The only thing I would suggest is if you are an athlete, don't go to bars so you avoid even having to be in this incident.

I remember watching Alexander running the court during a few games. It was absolutely hilarious. He looked like a 7'1" chicken because he was so awkward and he boobed his head so much!

If you had a scholarship to a D1 school I bet you'd think differently about that. I lived on a floor one year with a bunch of scholarship athletes and they were always complaining about how they basically can't even defend themselves without it having an implication on their status with the team. For instance if some guy sucker punched you at the bar and you punched back even in defense you were basically assured of some sort of punishment regardless if you weren't the one that provoked it.

Again, I'm not saying that what happened to him was right. He should have been smarter and just got out of there and let the authorities handle it if he was attacked.

I'm not disagreeing. I think you are expected to just sit there and take it as a D1 athlete. I couldn't do that. So my best defense to avoid those situations would be to stay home at night.

I can't recall who said nothing good ever happens after midnight. So true.

Cool, I thought you were inferring that regardless you would have fought back. Yeah if I was a D1 athlete I probably would be a lot more selective with my evening activities as well. I just remember 1 guy on our floor was always complaining about all the NCAA regulations he had to follow along with the terms of his scholarship so he basically would be sitting around sometimes on a Friday or Saturday night because "the NCAA won't allow me to have no fun so I ain't going out and getting into trouble" was basically how he'd always say it. Funny stuff to me but he was probably smart to be overly-cautious as he had nothing to gain and a lot to lose if he got into an incident.

As a D1 athlete it probably wasn't a good environment for him to be in in the first place. But like someone else said, I think 99% of people would have retaliated as well. If someone dumped a pitcher of beer on me, I would have reacted similarly. It's easy for you to say, "well as a D1 athlete he should know better," but that is easy to say from the outside looking in. In the heat of the moment most of us would have done the same I'm sure. (I don't however think it would have taken 3 of them to restrain me  )

As far as Alexander's abilities, he was a stud at IHCC. I remember going to SCC/IHCC games, The War on 34. He was a freak.
