I have been watching Chuck since it premiered. I have to say Chuck is currently one of the WORST shows on television. There is nothing original about the show anymore. It is simply a spy show. They even have to force Jeff, Lester, and Big Mike onto the audience for 2 minutes an episode. Just HORRIBLE!! I really wish I could stop watching... but so much time invested

I am now more convinced than ever of the greatness of Chuck.

Although TBH, this show was much better when Chuck was a bumbling nerd and the plots centered around the Buymore (MORE JEFFSTER PLEASE) and less "spy missions."
Agreed. And I wasn't a huge fan of his "upgrade" at first but it kind of grew on me after a while. But then they really started to lose me when they started sending Morgan on missions. Not that the show was ultra realistic before that, but I had a hard time suspending disbelief on that. That being said, I'm still watching it and the last few episodes have been pretty good.

But morgan is the chuck of the first couple seasons. In a lot of ways you see him paralleling chuck as he gets into the spy world.

True, but the original premise of the show was that even though he was a bumbling nerd, he was still an asset because of the intersect, so it was worth the risk to bring him on missions. Morgan has zero training and doesn't really have anything to offer, and yet they would send him along on extremely dangerous missions. I just could never get into it. But like I said I still watch the show. That may partly be due to Sarah being smoking hot, but who can really say for sure.

5 seasons pretty much ensures Chuck makes it to syndication (assuming the validity of the whole "100 episodes" thing). Even if Chuck does flame out in season 5, ensuring the first several seasons are commemorated like that makes it worth it.

I love the show. That being said, I'm starting to feel like Chuck has run its course. Where does it go next - Chuck trying to balance parenthood with super spyhood? Then again, I missed Monday's episode (freaking P90X and attempting to beat myself into shape for the first time since high school) and I'll have to catch it on nbc.com. Perhaps I'll feel differently about it once I see it.

One of my favorite things about Chuck is that every week they bring in some new, smoking hot spy/villain with long legs and they parade her around in a short skirt and heels.

The one thing that bothers me about this season in particular is the abundance of blatant product promotion. Half of Big Mike's scenes are glorified Subway ads, plus there was the scene a couple weeks ago where they talk about his Toyota.

Its kind of become an in-joke with the series. Subway played a big part in bringing Chuck back for its 3rd season. In-show product promotion, especially with a show like Chuck that is more likely to be DVR'd or watched online due to its audience, helps pay the bills.

Fringe does it too with Sprint. Shows are going this way if they have a limited audience. I fully expect them all to apply it at some point.

Good to see "Chuck" back for at least one more season, even if it is only just for 13 episodes. I'm not sure it's as good as it used to be, but as others have pointed out the show really has evolved quite a bit from what it used to be and for the most part I think it's executed that evolution pretty well.

I'm fully expecting another show I enjoy, "The Event" to be cancelled and go out with a whimper. Really too bad considering the massive amount of hype and publicity NBC put behind it last summer. I like the show, but it has been a bit of a mess the last few episodes, and I wonder if that's because they know the end is near. Not surprising it's dying a slow death when the "brains" at NBC pulled it off the air for close to three months last winter so they could show "The Cape" and confirm what everyone thought about NBC being run by idiots.
