I always made fun of people who ate cinnamon rolls with chili. Then I actually tried it and it was amazing. Corn bread is fine with chili, but cinnamon rolls and chili is a superior combo

This has to be a southern Iowa thing. My dad and his siblings would do this and the rest of the family thought they were crazy.

Having lived in southern Iowa for a majority of my life, I've never seen or heard of anybody doing this. Your dad's family might just be weird.

Nope. I also haven't tried eating dog ****, even though my dog assures me it tastes great.

My school had cinnamon rolls with chili, but I always ate the chili, then the cinnamon roll.

Did people actually dip the roll in the chili? That's weird.

My school also served brownies on Sloppy Joe day, but it's not like I put the brownie on the Sloppy Joe.

And you wonder why some people make fun of the Midwestern chili traditions when they pair it with effing cinnamon rolls.

Spouse and I were like WTF first time we they served chili at the dining center after we started college. Why they hell is breakfast food being served with chili?

Though in WI, they put ******* noodles in it and still call it chili. That's goulash. ******* weirdos.

Honestly I put the cinnamon roll at the bottom of the bowl and pour the chili over it

Have the posters that are knocking it tried it? You're not dipping the cinnamon roll in the chili. It surprisingly complements the chili pretty well.
I am absolutely dipping the cinnamon roll in the chili. Granted I will dip or add really any sort of chip or bread to my chili or soup. Similar to how I dip any sort of pastry or toast into my coffee ... so maybe this is just a me issue

I bet half the people that are knocking it haven't even tried it. I grew up with it at our schools, it's great and my wife has no clue what shes missing.

If only I could have chili, that would be an amazing meal.

I grew up(central Iowa) with cornbread, cheese, and sour cream. My wife grew up(lake city) with saltines and cinnamon rolls. We typically serve with whatever you want in it, and a cinnamon roll on the side. I like either way and won't ever pass up the opportunity to eat a cinnamon roll(or sticky bun). However, the absolute best way to serve it, is in a dutch oven, with the cornbread baked on top of the chili!

where I come from a Dutch oven is holding someone’s head under the covers after a fart. That’s a weird way to eat cornbread....

Grilled cheese sandwich. Fritos. And a ton of cheese.

You don't grill it. It's just a cold cheese sandwich or plain old break and butter. You cinnamon roll and corn bread people are weirdos.

Peanut butter sandwich, single slice of bread smeared with peanut butter and folded in half.. perfect for wiping the inside edges of your chili bowl. :D
