I blame them for the marital situation I am in now. Can I sue?

Like most class actions, no one will really benefit other than the lawyers and they'll be able to retire.

Cool! That just happened to be the time period when I proposed.

I always thought it was common knowledge that DeBeers price fixed. They whole heartedly admit they only release a small portion of the diamonds that they get each year. Plus, they buy up just about every diamond mine they can find.

But yeah, the only people who will benefit from this are the lawyers, they'll get rich and DeBeers will be able to raise the price even more using their payout of the suit as the reason.

I guess things like food, electricity, water, natural gas, that stuff should be monitored for price fixing. Diamonds? Not something you really need. If you don't like the price, don't buy it.

Does this include the ring I bought my wife from the shady looking guy on the corner of 13th & Grand? I picked it up when I was getting some sweet corn and he gave me a handwritten receipt and everything.

it says in the fine print that you don't have to even have receipt for it

First of all, has anyone successfully gotten a return?

Secondly, how can you get a return if they don't even ask for a receipt?

They're DeBeers. They know who bought and hasn't bought. They didn't make you sign in blood when you bought your diamonds? They're not called blood diamonds for nothing

I have been on class action lawsuits like this in the past for Best Buy and even Blockbuster. They just ask if anyone purchased something during a certain time period and if you just say you did the claim will go through and you end up getting like $5 to $10 down the road in a year or so. These aren't that big of a deal, but it is usually at least worth a free lunch someday in the future for filling out a 5 minute claim.

Damn, now when my wife asks why we aren't getting in on this action I have to tell her the truth, that I purchased her engagement ring on QVC and it's made of Diamonique.
