Sounds like Dresser is in trouble with the NCAA.
Want to be specific ? Is this something beyond the minor infractions when starting the CRTC that have already been addressed ? Does this have something to do with AE and his recruitment ?

Better recruiting requires more money invested into the program. You’re not getting one without the other...
Your way off here. The Paulsons were ace recruiters and consistently getting top 5 classes with less money in the program. Dresser has enhanced the funding, but he doesn’t have a great recruiter based on the results.

Reading other comments from other fan bases, the issue I have is the Sunnyside Wrestling video saying he was signing his National Letter of Intent. If it was just a verbal, he has every right to take visits, but not when a NLI is signed.

Look at how Iowa blew up when Sokol took the Ohio State visit and was just a verbal.

Most fan bases would have blown up also with the idea that he had a NLI signed

Exactly. This program has more money invested in it than ever. Other staffs haven’t had this tough of a time recruiting with LESS resources. We just lack a killer recruiter. Look at every top10 team, you’ll find an ace recruiter. Probably the best one (arguably) is a former cyclone in Madison - Jon Reader. His boss (also a former cyclone) is an ace recruiter also. That’s why you see them dominating on the recruiting trail.

Couldn't agree more. VT, North Carolina, NC state, Cornell, Oklahoma state, Iowa, Penn state, Ohio state, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Arizona state, Michigan, Missouri. All teams out recruiting Cyclones by a wide margin. Hard to think Metcalf and St. John can carry the load of recruiting along with running practices.

Only the two full time assistants are allowed to actually recruit. Same is true anywhere. Wrestling recruiting is not very complex.

I said carry the load of recruiting..
Anthony Ralph director of recruiting Ohio State
Tyler Caldwell recruiting coordinator Oklahoma State
Adam Lynch director of operations Penn State
Just a couple guys who help with recruiting on some of the best recruiting teams.

I’m with you here, the whole NLI thing that was both in that now missing video and in the Tucson paper , every story I read said signing , none said verbal commitment . All the fan bases now telling him to follow his heart once the shoe is on the other foot.
There is likely more to this story.

Or we aren’t offering enough money to land them
Well if that is the case, that’s bad recruiting/management IMO. We have like 45 kids on the roster. That’s insane. I know a lot of them aren’t getting much money but at some point we have to turn the corner of replenishing depth and start focusing on 2-3 top flight kids a year then sprinkle in depth.
Landing kids in the 80-150 range is good if you’re looking to build a solid dual team with depth but if you’re looking to compete for team trophies in March, you have to have top10 type kids in your lineup. There is more than enough proof of that over the last decade.
I definitely think something fishy happened with AE and I don’t blame the staff for cutting ties at this point. Very disappointed in AE. I also can’t really blame this on the staff fully but this is just the most public fail of a piling amount of recruiting fails so far. Really need to start turning the corner on recruiting soon. We are going to have a solid team the next two years but I’m not very confident in our roster after that.

I am with you but to be fair I think the coaches are trying to do just that. Carr, Ryan Anderson, Dom Serrano, Jakason Burks, Aden Reeves, Facundo, Chris Foca, Echemendia, Joey Zargo, Brody Teske, Cohlton Schultz, Ridge Lovett, Jackson Turley, Jace Luchau, Wyatt Henson... These are all high caliber 4* or 5* kids the coaches narrowly missed on. The problem is closing the deal not the lack of going after them. Maybe we just don't offer as good of a package as the other schools.
