Twitter is smoking tonight with rumors.

FSU & Ga. Tech to follow...

I do believe conference re-alignment is once again upon us. This time we're on the good side of things:cool:

If this wasn't a site you had to sign up for a free trial, I'd consider reading it. Until then, nothing to see here.

To be clear nothing has been signed obviously but "From all indications the board of trustees will approve"

Today multiple sources have confirmed to our friends at Cemetery-Hill.com that Clemson and the BigXII have "agreed in principle" to Clemson joining the conference in July 2013. While we cannot confirm that the BigXII or the Clemson Board of Trustees have officially voted on the measure, we believe any vote at this point would be considered a formality. We will update with more information as we receive it. Who's ready to join the ACF on the official Tobacco Road Farewell Tour?

Either somebody did a great job spreading a viral rumor or we really do have another team (and likely more) joining the Big 12. This next week we may see a whole new Big 12 announced.

With the recent SEC connection you'd have to think 4 to put both at 14, but is it 3 from ACC and Louisville to not create an all out massacre with one move?

Kinda looking at the Clemson boards and I see this dandy of a post:
I have listed (in my opinion) the most marketable football teams in order from the Big 12 and the ACC (less FSU and Clemson)

Which teams would rather see us play in Death Valley?

Va Tech or Texas Texas
Miami or Oklahoma Miami
GT or Ok State Tech
UNC or West Va WVU
NC State or Baylor State
MD or Texas Tech Push
UVA or TCU TCU
WF or Kansas State WF
BC or Kansas Push
Duke or Iowa State Duke
Someone replied with the bold...
Apparently they don't think very highly of us out there.

Gorm

With any luck we will be there by Tuesday.

I believe that we are going to see some big dominoes fall this week in expansion. The big 12 SEC deal is just too much clout on the other conferences. We should have our picks of the other conferences. Still tough to see the Big 12 getting into bed with the enemy (SEC), but by doing so we have really solidified the four major conferences for football. Everyone else will want to join into one of the 4 with the Big 12 having the most open spots.

LMAO at Wake Forest > Kansas State

If there was a "challenge" type thing between the leagues I honestly think the Big 12 may have swept them a few times.

as SNL George W Bush would say, the rest of college football violated rule numero uno...they messed with Texas.

I have a feeling rivalries played a bit of a factor in the second poster's picks.

It seems to me that Clemson is like ISU in that their most hated rival by far is really their in state, out of conference rival.

They'd get over any lesser rivalries they might lose as fast as we got over Neb/Mizzou.

Their schedule would often be a lot like ours. 9 B12 games, maybe in ISU's division even, in state rival from another major conference, 2 open non conf games.

So do you think Bowlsby is just downplaying this, because earlier this week didn't he say they wanted to stay at 10 teams for now?

Yes he said that but in no way did I buy it for a second. We are not staying at 10 teams.

I think he said he wanted to "pause" the expansion stuff, but based on these rumors, he might have accidentally hit "fast-forward" instead.

I think Bowlsby was telling the truth...his preference may be to hit pause. But events, ironically driven in part by the interim occupant of the position he's about to inherit, may dictate otherwise.

I wouldn't expect to see anything "official" for a couple months.

Also...screw Georgia Tech. They can take a flying leap as far as I'm concerned.

FSU...YES
Clemson....YES
Louisville....YES
ND/NCState/VaTech....YES

The rest of the ACC can take their snobby viewpoint of the Big 12 and rot away.
