Despite the fact that the game had no postseason implications and a low attendance, this was one of the best games I have ever been to. You could feel the emotion. The offensive line played like it should have all year, and along with Kock just ran over the defense. I'm glad Mac could get a win and go out on a high note with the crowd on the field chanting his name.

What I wouldn't have given to have been there... instead, I got to watch my Crimson Tide lose for the FIFTH straight to Auburn... heck, I'd take McCarney and let Shula hit the road...

McCarney is one hell of a guy and one hell of a program builder... I'm going to miss him. Thanks for the pics guys, gives me goosebumps.

Thanks, Chris and ISUKyro!!

I felt the same thing, Cycloneworld. Those fourth downs where he went for it just warmed my heart - he was being an ambassador of what the crowd wanted, and that was wonderful. It was sad that they cut out of his speech after the first TD, but I'm so glad they replayed it at the half. Heck of a game.

Just got home from Ames. Super day to be a Cyclone! Wish Kock would have had two more carries on the south end, but hey, a Win is a Win. part of the stadium, the crowd was great. I've got that scratchy McCarney sound to my voice right now.

Wow

Living in Denver I was stuck and relegated to "watching" the game update on my sprint phone and making sure that the ESPN "webpage" on my phone was set on auto-update so I at least got to see what was happening...every 45 seconds if I was lucky :)

That being said, I don't think I can compare the goosebumps and the salty water that came out of my eyes seeing that pic with Mac being carried off. Man I will miss that guy. He brought me up from a squawk fan as a young kid and showed me the light. He's defined ISU for me and now even two years after I graduated, he still does and always will define ISU for me :)

I wasn't able to go to the game, but listened to the post game show, the locker room show and the show after that on the radio. How emotional was that! You could hear it in the voice of Walters, Heft and Bruns. Made me not feel so bad about the tears in my own eyes.

We must have set the record for winning all four of our games on the last play. Awesome.

Great win yesterday!!

I have to admit I was cursing out Cotton on that stupid Meyer bootleg call at the goal line. For the love of all that is holy the way Kock was running the ball you give it to him 40 times and dare Mizzery to stop him!

Then, of course, we miss the field goal. My friend immediately started talking about how we lost the game. LOL

I will hand it to the players and coaches. They played that game with fire, emotion and a purpose. And, that also PISSES me off. If the team I saw yesterday had played that way the whole season I have NO DOUBT they would have won at least 7 games. Ultimately that is the fault of the coaches for not having the team in the position to win, and why Mac is no longer our coach. I wanted Mac to stay around at Iowa State until he retired an old man, but yesterday confirmed in my mind that the right decision was made.
