For those of you like me that held off on the YouTube subscription and as a result didn't get to watch Cobra Kai, it hits Netflix on Friday.

Bigger yet, Season 3 is going straight to Netflix in 2021.

After binging Cobra Kai over the weekend, I can see season 3 playing out two different ways:

1. Johnny takes over Miyagi-do, since Amanda forced Daniel to give it up, and he molds it to a style more suited to him, much to Daniel's chagrin.

2. Johnny starts up a new dojo (learning from his mistakes he made with Cobra Kai) that pulls in disillusioned students from both Cobra Kai and Miyagi-do, and as a result ends up having to fight a 2-front war with both Daniel and Kreese.

I think #2 is more likely.

(For the record, that second wall scroll in the Miyagi-do dojo in Okinawa says “Strike first; Strike hard; No mercy.” Ok, fine, I don’t really believe it actually says that, but still... plot twist)

Honestly this series did a fantastic job of nostalgia mixed with being a good modern show. My daughter who has not seen the Karate Kid watched the whole thing with me. No she is going to watch the Karate kid this week so she can see the past. Karate kid is actually a prequel for her. She like the first two seasons without knowing the past. So that makes me know they did a good job updating it.

Man the flashback scenes of the original Karate Kid brought back a ton of memories. As a kid I loved The Karate Kid. Bringing back John Kreese was epic. Can't wait to see how the story plays out in season 3. Do I smell an alliance of two heated rivals against a common enemy?

William Zabka needs to win a **** load of awards for this. The 80's montage where he's fantasizing about Miguel's mom had me rolling. His first computer and then binge on the internet was awesome. There's multiple lines each episode where having grown up in the 80's I laugh hysterically.

Some of the constant mis-understandings and character arcs were a little too far fetched, but I guess I need to suspend reality a bit more.

- Miguel basically going a bit insane to win the tournament while alienating Sam, weird.
- Robby immediately going from a punk to the golden boy when he was working at the car dealership, weird. Then showing no mercy on Miguel at the end of season 2, double weird.
- Hawk's evolution, weird weird weird.
- Daniel and Johnny going bat **** insane over this whole deal.
- Also Daniel and Amanda's son is the worst character ever.

That is the only thing I hate about this show. Why did they put so little effort into Daniels son. Why not make him a kind of nerdy character that had potential if taught karate. I mean he is a little chubby dude with no real future to add to the show. He would be unbelievable as a Karate student or doing anything else. Could have eventually ended up with Johnnys son fighting for Daniel and Daniels son fighting for Johnny. So many thing they could have done with that character.

Johnny has so many epic little things like his password being "Sweeptheleg". Loving everything 80's is genius since that is basically why most of us started watching the show.

Saw Johnny Lawrence having dinner with Sensei Kreese at a little dive Mexican restaurant a few days ago. Just a few blocks from most of the studios which is also "the valley" so they could have been filming on location too. Was surreal seeing them hanging out in the 'real world'.

Weird but teenagers are kind of an emotional rollercoaster like that.

If you take out the dueling karate dojo far fetched part the rest isn't that much different than some high school social rivalries. When I lived in a smaller town for a few years in HS there would be big violent rumbles after football and basketball games with a rival town even though the kids barely knew each other.

I still find it strange when I see Ralph and Zabka being interviewed together. I feel like they really should hate each other in real life at this point. Apparently both of them are the nicest dudes ever.

Saw an interview where William Zabka said that people think he is a real jerk in real life since every character he played in the 80's was a bully and a jerk. Thought that was pretty funny.,

Yeah my wife had the reaction of 'bad guys' when seeing them and she's not even a real fan. Kreese character maybe even more.

If they had never rebooted, I still would have instantly known OH KOBRA KAI BAD GUYS seeing them together 30+ years later. Hard to think of two actors who aren't household names that are so recognizable.
