Not just sports. They could be having a concert, monster truck, pro-ish wrestling, garden show, camper show, dance marathon, etc. If they've already booked an event for the evening it will be impossible to change. I have no idea if they have an evening event or not, but it's not just sports

Apparently you haven't been to a concert in a few years, Dean. They start loading in a concert at 7 or 8 am for a standard evening show and for a lot of the larger shows they rig the day before if they can. By the time you have a game start at noon, allow 2.5 hours for game time (if there isn't overtime), at least half an hour for the fans to leave and at least an hour to clean the arena (I'm being conservative here) you are at 4:00, pretty late to start loading any sort of event in. And that is just if it is an event that can happen with the BB floor in. Taking the BB floor and all of the other BB related floor equipment out generally can't be done in the measly hour I allowed for cleaning (I'm waiting for the cleaning crew to start yelling at me any second).

They could maybe do a wrestling meet, another BB game or gymnastics that evening. Beyond that, it is highly doubtful.

Louisville plays in the KFC Yum! Center. There aren't any other school sports using that facility. They can have that game whenever they want.

I'm well aware of what facility Louisville plays in. However, Louisville Mens and Womens basketball play there.

Regardless, my point is that is why basketball schedules are set with dates and times well before the season starts, unlike football. If you left the game times up in the air for TV, it would be a scheduling nightmare. Is it possible that they could move the game to a later time if asked, yes. However, it rarely happens with basketball for the aforementioned reasons. If ESPN had interest in this game being on Gameday, they would of locked it in for a late start when they set their schedule, not after the fact.

So knowing that, it is highly unlikely that the Louisville/Duke game is being considered for Gameday that day.

To say the NBA isn't a better product is silly. At least 80% of college basketball games are unwatchable.

NBA isn't a better product, not even close. NBA is unwatchable. I don't even consider watching a game until round 2 of the playoffs.

You lost me here. Bilas loves the NBA and only the NBA. Last few times I've watched gameday he talked about what a "Better Product" the NBA is... I'm not a Bilas fan.

So apparently you have a problem when someone calls a spade a spade...

So you like seeing college teams shoot 40% from the field? College players can't shoot and aren't as good as NBA players. Just like High school players aren't as good as college.

It's like saying AAA baseball is a better product than professional.

Does the NBA have decades-long rivalries where people camp out in tents for days before the game? Does the NBA have a stable of legendary coaches who've been doing it since before many of us were born? Does the NBA have legions of fans who pack arenas, make signs, mercilessly taunt opposing players, and cheer until their lungs are sore? Does the NBA have dozens of games every Saturday were a person can sit for hours on end and watch great, meaningful games? Does the NBA have its divisions play a tournament in which the winner gets a ticket punched to the postseason? Does the NBA have a single-elimination tournament that's easily the most exciting sporting event in history? Does the NBA have Cinderellas? Does the NBA have One Shining Moment?

By this logic, the NBA All-Star game should be the single-most popular basketball event each year.

There's more to the sport than just watching talented players be talented.

When it comes to the actual product on the court, no there isn't. All the stuff you listed in your previous post doesn't have to do with the product on the court, which is what Bilas is referring to.

I haven't seen any Bilas quotes in here...

And so what? No **** the NBA has better players than the NCAA, but that doesn't necessarily make a "better product".

Go back two pages as to why someone doesn't like Bilas.

And yes it does. How is this so hard? Better players means a better product.

Thank you! I agree not all college basketball teams are exciting to watch, but as I whole I find it more exciting.

"Better product" is an opinion no matter which side you are on so everyone is right.

Yeah, didn't think about how long it takes to set up a concert.

Oh, and I was last at a concert in July. July 2014
