KU could lose every game until Jan 17, and they would still be an attractive option for ESPN.
Attractive? yes. Worthy of Gameday at being unranked and 9-7? no.
I realize you were being mildly sarcastic, but a top 10 Texas isn't too far behind KU in terms of drawing a basketball audience.

If KU plays like that against ISU they will get boat raced. One could argue that WVU @ UT has much less of a chance of being a blowout because Texas just isn't a high octane team.

We aren't going to lose gameday because KU lost.

I think how ISU plays from now until Jan 17 will have more impact on if we get gameday. ESPN has to be looking at ISU in terms of the entertainment value, that ISU might just be one of the most entertaining teams in america to watch. Even die hard hawks are admitting they like to watch us play. ESPN is going to get the die hard KU following across the country, and ISU brings the entertainment value for the casual viewer, and the upset value for all those that root against KU. It could be a very fun game to watch.

That must be why their home attendance is so pathetic... their fans all stay home to watch the games.

I think ISU has a shot because of what Dickie V and Fran would be telling ESPN on how great the fans and atmosphere is. Assuming we don't lose any games and are a top 10 team, hosting KS - i think ISU has a 90% chance of getting the gameday crew.

Who would rather have......Dreamy for an interview on site or Barnes?

from my sources, (people in Athletics development aka cyclone club) we are 90% to get game day unless KU or us really **** up

Does KU getting blown out at Temple count as really ******* up? Hopefully not. Any other team would drop out of the rankings, but I'm sure KU will stay top 20. As long as both teams can keep a number by their name for the next two weeks I think we're OK.

Came to this thread just to see reaction to UT loss at home last night to Stanford. So far, you're it. This definitely throws a wet blanket on TX/WVU and improves our hopes.

It does. Still think this may come down to the WV/ISU game on Jan 10th in Morgantown.

I still think they want to do Ames over Autsin, just because it is something new. Hoiberg is the hot young coach they can do a stories about. Barnes has been around awhile. UT has had gamedays - the crowds will be blah. The crowd in Ames will be crazy. I am sure ISU sent pics of the students camping out and wrapping around Hilton to buy tickets for Gameday to ESPN.

The UT/WVU game is just a back up incase the game turned into 2 unranked teams or ISU blew up pre-season............see Okie Light last year.
