Why is no one talking about the camp he's doing in Dubuque? :)

He is also doing one in Council Bluffs at Lewis Central. My guess is to try and get some interest from the Omaha area HS players.

I think it is great that he is doing these types of camps. More exposure for the program than only trying to ge them to come to campus.

Thanks for proving my point. We got several videos from each practice last year and years before showing drill work and one on one match ups with receivers and dbacks. We didn't get flashes of parts of plays.

The things that have been released so far are flashes of people where absolutely nothing can be seen of their ability etc.

Anybody who watched these videos in the past knows exactly what I'm talking about. Again, this is a good example of people telling you "everything" is better when it obviously is not when it comes to promoting spring practice by showing harmless videos of it.

As I said, I support Campbell either way but the bs is getting thick on certain issues like this.

The video you posted is fun for the excitement of watching them compete. It's worthless for anything else and not even close to what we got in the past.

I could be wrong as I really don't watch most of these videos, but weren't those videos for fall camp?

Love the attitude and aggressiveness so far. It's refreshing. Time will tell how successful he is. In the meantime I will enjoy the ride.

Does any fan base "enjoy rides" as much as we do? Unfortunately, most of ours have been like:

Pretty sure those were for fall camp, and they were dumb as hell anyway. Very few people care about seeing guys running through dummys or pushing sleds. I think those videos were just to do anything to get premium content on cyclones.tv

I liked Chris' column, but does anybody else have choppy audio when listening to the CMC interview? I think we need a new ad banner on here to buy a new mic for the guys.

RE: "I don’t know about you guys, but I will take Jim Harbaugh’s leftovers every day of the stinking week. " Leftovers, yes. Sloppy leftovers, let me think about it first.

No, they were not fall camp. It was done every spring for the last couple of years at least. It always identifies the practice number and listed what group was on the video. I'm not the only one who has noticed the change.

I just thought I would bring it up as people conveniently leave it out. And those videos were 10 times better than this stuff.

You actually got to see a route from beginning to end. See the qb throw. DB turn his hips.... receiver route running etc.

The best aspect of it was always watching the redshirt kids or semester jucos and seeing what they bring to the table.

It generated excitement. This spring is about as blah as it gets for ISU spring football.

I guarantee at least 90% of people would watch the drills for 15 seconds, get bored, and close the video. Or, not even watch them at all

This current staff is doing a hell of a lot more for generating excitement. If you can't see that, you are completely lost.

There's a few things I really like about this staff.

1. We finally hired an offense oriented HC. Kind of a big deal being in the Big12.

2. Said HC, and OC both excell with OL. Pretty big deal for a school being located in a place like Iowa.

3. He is seeing what he has first before installing a system.

4. He says and does the right thing for recruits to love him.

5. He works the players even harder, and creates a lot more friendly competition.

6. The staff is 100% all on the same page.

7. I could probably keep going but that's the gist.

Touching back on 3, it's surprising how many coaches are stubborn and want things done their way instead of building around what they have. CPR made us switch to Hermans system that we didn't have the players for. He made Messingham run Hermans system year one, then year two made him start running coach K's pistol. Clashed with Mangino, then finally got it right with Sturdy but it was too little too late.

I remember them doing the plays of the day in the spring and it was just a couple of plays. Really don't think it was 10 times better. If those videos meant anything Richardson would have been throwing TDs to DM every game. Really can't tell anything from 4-5 plays a week. Was kind of cool to see but not amazing like you are making it sound. I also wouldn't doubt if we get more in future years. Everyone is still learning a new offense.
